Big News for NHS Workforce Planning! The NHS aims to nearly double nurse training places by 2031, adding 24,000 more spots annually. This bold plan needs enough interested candidates. Despite efforts, only 6% of the NHS workforce is under 25. OECD data shows only 2% of teens want to be nurses, compared to 11% aiming to be doctors. To attract young talent, we must improve working conditions, pay, and address stereotypes. Bold policies, like writing off student debt accumulated during nurse training, can help tackle high attrition rates (Palmer et al 2023) Let's make nursing a top career choice! 🌍💙 https://lnkd.in/eUJzPucA #NHS #Healthcare #Nursing #WorkforcePlanning #FutureOfHealthcare #HealthcareCareers

Nurse Career Coach | Nursing Professional Development Expert | Speaker | #NursesBelongInTheBoardroom®️
Who’s better equipped to drive effective health care outcomes, if not nurses? And what better way to achieve those outcomes than bringing more nurses into health care-related organizations through #corporatenursing? Traditionally, nurses and #nurseleaders are taught to focus on outputs (the tasks that you do) instead of outcomes (the value of those tasks) without connecting the necessary dots. Through #LeapToCorporateNursing, I help nurses transition from a “task-based”mindset to an “outcome/results-oriented” mindset where you can use your skills to drive health care outcomes in the boardroom. One of the ways to go from “task based” to “outcome based” is to view everything you do in the workplace as a project. This is a valuable skill for nurses on both the clinical and corporate side. Make sure the outcome aligns with the objective. Make sure there’s linkage between the outcomes and the resources required to produce those outcomes. After completing #LEAP2CN, nurses are able to build expertise within their chosen pathway, drive outcomes and develop others as future #corporatenurses and nurse leaders. Let’s work together to get you hired. There’s still time to LEAP! 🏥💃🏾 The Corporate Nurse® #NursesBelongInTheBoardroom #linkedinnursing #nursesonlinkedin #nursinglife #nursingcareers #nursingjobs #nursingjobposts #nursingresearch #remotenursing

This will be a true challenge for Schools of Nursing as we prepare future nurse graduates. “Throughout the coming decade, it will be essential for nursing education to evolve rapidly in order to prepare nurses who can meet the challenges articulated in this report with respect to addressing social determinants of health (SDOH), improving population health, and promoting health equity. Nurses will need to be educated to care for a population that is both aging, with declining mental and physical health, and becoming increasingly diverse; to engage in new professional roles; to adapt to new technologies; to function in a changing policy environment; and to lead and collaborate with professionals from other sectors and professions” https://lnkd.in/eKny-veV
