Believing in the process was the key to state contracting success for Vantage ID Applications, a company that specializes in barcode and RFID technologies. A Certified Small Business, the company’s journey with state contracting began when they attended a business outreach conference event hosted by University of California San Diego (UCSD). At the conference they were inspired by a presentation from a California Department of General Services Business Outreach Liaison on contracting opportunities with the state. Vantage ID certified their business on Cal eProcure and soon received a request for proposal. This led them to their first state contract award in 2021. Following this initial success, Vantage ID continued to work with state department advocates who played an essential role in demonstrating how to raise awareness of their offerings and look into the historic spend of their product offerings. The result - $1.25 million in contracts with various public agencies.
