How To Find Relationship In Analogy To find relationships in analogies, identify the connection between the first pair of words. Apply this relationship to the second pair, ensuring consistency. For example, in "dog is to bark as cat is to meow," the relationship is based on the sound each animal makes.

Great post from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) - cute AND accessible to people with and without disabilities. How? A quick video description at the bottom of the post. Nice work!
In very scientific terms, this is called the ‘mom-mom-mom-mom-mom-mom-mom’ behavior. Three burrowing owl chicks harass mom near the mounded entrance to their underground burrow, while three others look on at the surrounding grassland of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in southeast Oregon. Video: Dan Streiffert Added video description: Burrowing owls have long legs and the mother tries to use height to position her head away from intruding chicks, who follow her every move.

Breaking Trail: Coyote's Encounter with the Bullet Ant Sting! In the video, the speaker describes a situation where an insect is climbing on their arm and trying to escape from a glass capsule. The speaker notes that the insect seems agitated and they can feel its legs gripping onto their skin. The insect is actively trying to climb out of the capsule, indicating a sense of urgency or discomfort. The speaker's observation provides insight into the insect's behavior and their own experience of interacting with it. #BreakingTrail #CoyotePeterson #BulletAntChallenge #InsectSting #WildlifeAdventure #BraveWilderness #AnimalEncounters #ExpeditionSeries #ViralVideo

A frequently asked question about marine life is why do manta and eagle rays leap out of the water (and some sharks) . . . here's a great summary of a recent review paper answering or trying to answer that question!
I wrote about the new review paper summarizing everything known about shark and ray breaching behavior https://lnkd.in/eYqybtDV

IPM Post 209: Aurora excretalis? While millions of eyes have recently been trained on the sky above in awe of the spectacle of colors, a few others may have been looking downwards to see other similarly marvelous sites. The shining stars of this indoor show were discrete rat droppings fluorescing under UV light. Whereas many rat droppings were obvious when illuminated with white light (left image), the shining pellets were endowed with a dye formulated into non-toxic detection feeding blocks within a rodent station placed outside of the building. The finding of fluorescing poop indoors just a day or so later confirmed that ‘outdoor’ rats had entered through a still hidden (to people) portal in the foundation. This revelation triggered enhanced efforts to eliminate rats indoors, seek and block entrances, and modify the landscape to reduce rat activity just outside the building. Success was soon achieved, and no rat has been detected at this site for nearly a decade. A shining example of integrated pest management at work. #IPM #rat #rodent #pest #detection #fluorescence
