Baltupiai, stuck in the late '70s Soviet modernism, prioritizes quantity over aesthetics. Despite mature greenery, it has a sleepy atmosphere with little individuality or community engagement. We branded a new real estate project, adding a new context to this district rather than denying its past. Named after a historic village and stream, Baltupis offers a fresh start, celebrating individuality and community. 🟪 "You can be yourself here, but never feel alone" highlights the project's amenities and human-centric architecture, while Baltupis logo blends history and modernity, symbolizing transformation. The result—branding that captures the Vilnius city's vision, the developer's perspective, and future residents' aspirations—a vibrant district pulsating with urban life. This is what modern facade design is all about!
✨Why beauty matters in the urban environment. Łódź, Poland. This street of very ordinary and non-descript residential buildings has had a stunning makeover. Łódź had always carried the tag of being a depressing-looking city due to the many run-down and abandoned buildings. However, an ambitious strategy to regenerate dilapidated residential tenement buildings and revitalise previously notorious streets has changed this image and helped to regenerate the city centre. Most of the drab tenement houses have been completely transformed, with architectural details and forms added to their facades. And the public realm has also been upgraded with the introduction of shared surfaces, street furniture, pocket parks, and trees. The effect of these changes is quite dramatic, and what a positive difference it makes. Private real estate development in Łódź is booming, and the much improved urban environment is benefiting residents and appealing to visitors and investors. Great job! 👏

Something to learn about planning in design: Barcelona feels like someone has put European houses on roads of Singapore. Didn't expect the transport infra to be this good (wide roads, lots of space to walk, cycle, bus, cars). Few pointers: - It has a special design called Eixample. It's like a giant grid with slanted corners so cars and people can move easily - designed in the 19th century by Ildefons Cerdà - There are lots of trees and parks everywhere. This was planned a long time ago to make the city nice to live in. - The city mixes old buildings with new ones. So, you can see cool castles and modern stuff all in one place. - They're making "superblocks" now. This means less cars in some areas so there’s more space to play and walk. - Getting around is easy with buses and trains that take you everywhere you want to go. Barcelona shows us how cities can be fun, green, and easy to get around if you plan things way ahead for scale. 🌳🚈🏰

Building design and street design addressed together as one, not as separate entities..

Futurecity: Visioning Shanghai's Bund in 2050 In the year 2050, the iconic Bund area of Shanghai has undergone a remarkable transformation, seamlessly blending the city's rich heritage with cutting-edge technological advancements. The majestic Pearl Tower, a beloved landmark, still stands tall, its futuristic design complemented by the towering skyscrapers that surround it, including the Jin Mao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Shanghai Tower. Vertical farming structures, adorned in shades of emerald and jade, rise majestically into the sky, their sleek facades reflecting the city's commitment to sustainable living. These urban oases provide a bountiful supply of fresh produce, ensuring that the city's residents have access to nutritious, locally grown food. Transportation in this futuristic metropolis has evolved, with silent, floating trains gliding effortlessly above the streets, their aerodynamic designs a testament to the city's innovative spirit. These eco-friendly modes of transportation offer a seamless and efficient way to navigate the bustling cityscape, reducing congestion and minimizing the city's carbon footprint. The skyline is a kaleidoscope of bold colors, with buildings adorned in shades of silver, blue, pink, and purple, their sleek and futuristic designs a testament to the city's architectural prowess. Holographic billboards and interactive displays adorn the facades, creating a mesmerizing display of light and sound that captivates the senses. Despite the city's futuristic advancements, the Bund area retains its historic charm, with the iconic Huangpu River winding its way through the heart of the city, its waters reflecting the vibrant skyline. Pedestrian-friendly promenades and lush green spaces offer respite from the urban hustle and bustle, providing a harmonious balance between the old and the new. Shanghai in 2050 is a true marvel, a city that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation, where the past and the future coexist in perfect harmony, creating a vibrant and sustainable urban oasis that inspires awe and wonder in all who witness its grandeur. This is a concept created and generated by PartyRock. #china #shanghai #ai #artificialintelligence #generatedimagine #future

"A curated view of where innovation is happening in marketing today, why it matters, and how it is transforming modern business". --- Transformative heritage. I find the vision applied to this project to be very clear and precise, transforming a historic site into a contemporary initiative. It maintains the values of the past while adding a touch of the future. In China, such transformations have been happening for several years, and some of them are particularly interesting to discover and understand. The Weishan Chongzheng Academy Bookstore of Librairie Avant-Garde, located in Yunnan Province’s Weishan Ancient Town, is an extensive project by Trace Architecture Office (TAO). Weishan, with its history of over 600 years, has a preserved urban layout dating back to China’s Ming and Qing dynasties. In 2021, the task of repairing and renovating this historic academy was undertaken, transforming it into a multipurpose bookstore that also serves as an exhibition space, small theater, café, cultural innovation center, public art installation, and open market. The design revives the academy’s former prosperity and vitality, creating a new lifestyle destination that encourages public participation and contributes to the revival of the old town. 🙌 What’s your take? # 352 ARCHITECTURE, China 👉 More content on our website and subscribe to the weekly newsletter; the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write us privately. I'm a[...]service designer with baggage. I'm mostly interested in people and why they do what they do. I bring visions to life and elevate project conceptions and processes.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗶'𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲. 🦄 Hi! It's been quite some time since my last post, but I stumbled upon this story while working on an essay about cities that I had to share immediately. 📸 Have you heard of the Paris replica in Tianducheng? 📣 Back in 2007, this project began, and by 2013, it had earned the moniker of being the "Chinese ghost town that looks exactly like Paris." Complete with its own Eiffel Tower, standing at 108 meters tall, it's the third-largest replica after the original in Paris and the one in Las Vegas. (Nothing to compare to the one in Brisbane above an Italian restaurant. #IYKYK) Surrounded by 31 km2 of Parisian architecture replicas, with its own Champs-Élysées and the Versailles Fountain, Tianducheng offers a meticulously crafted illusion of the French capital. 📣 This is not the only replica in China, reflecting a trend that emerged in the early 2000s. Someone spent 940 million dollars to replicate Hallstatt in GuangDong. There's also a replica of Florence in HangZhou, and replicas of an Anting German town, an English town, a Swiss Interlake, a combination of Dutch stereotypes, a Swedish town, and Manhattan. The city isn't a ghost town anymore; over 30,000 residents inhabit the "Paris of China" right now, where generations are growing up with a scaled-down Eiffel Tower, one-third the size of the original, as the primary landmark, making it their norm. #Paris #China #city #story #

An extraordinary experience of urban revitalization. It's 2007, in Tallinn, Estonia. Brave 30-year-old entrepreneur Jaanus Juss launches the idea of Telliskivi Creative City / Telliskivi Loomelinnak: transforming a former industrial area into a space for creative businesses, festivals and cultural activities. “The most interesting example of commercial clustering I have seen on the spectrum between coordinated malls and fragmented, independent main streets.” This is what Andres Sevtsuk, noted professor of Urban Science & Planning at MIT, said on Telliskivi. Easy to see why. This extraordinary project has led to the construction of a self-sufficient city: a free and inspiring place whose existence is linked to the creation and support of new cultural and creative enterprises, and initiatives for civic engagement. From festivals to markets, from nonprofits to design studios: today Telliskivi is a vibrant and effervescent space. Yet another demonstration that a good idea is often more effective than a demolition plan. At Utopian Hours / Milan Edition, an unmissable talk!
