We teach people how to treat us

Namaste :-) The voices inside us that hold us back are called our Gremlins, or Saboteurs. They are the voices that say not to rock the boat. They also tell us we’re being respectful when we hold back our truth; that we are keeping ourselves safe, keeping the peace, being realistic, or whatever lies they tell to keep us in our comfort zones. What if we stopped listening to them? What if, instead, we defined respect as treating people like human beings? What if, instead of letting the Gremlins speak, we said things to ourselves like… “When I approach others as though their minds are open, I am respecting them.” “When I shed light on potential problems, I am respecting the people around me by assuming they are open to co-creating solutions.” “When I approach conflict from a place of curiosity, I am respecting others by understanding that they have an inner experience I know nothing about.” https://lnkd.in/ew3MNAd #CEOofYourLife #BeYou #speakyourtruth #leadershipcoaching #executivecoaching

Empathy: The Key to Effective Teamwork Empathy is a powerful force in building strong, collaborative teams. It helps foster trust, improve communication, and create an environment where everyone can thrive. By understanding why someone behaves a certain way, we move beyond judgments and create stronger team dynamics. Here’s a simple story to illustrate its power. You’re working on a high-pressure project with tight deadlines, and one of your team members, Alex, starts missing deadlines and disengaging from meetings. It’s easy to feel frustrated and assume that Alex is not committed to the work. But instead of jumping to conclusions, you decide to approach the situation with empathy. You have a private conversation with Alex, seeking to understand what’s going on. In this one-on-one discussion, Alex opens up about facing personal challenges—perhaps a family illness or overwhelming stress. With this new information, you realize Alex’s behavior isn’t a reflection of their work ethic, but rather a temporary struggle they’re going through. Empathy Builds Trust This moment of empathy builds trust. By showing Alex that you care, you help them feel supported rather than judged. This boosts their morale and encourages them to re-engage with the project. When empathy becomes a team norm, trust flourishes. Team members are more likely to share their concerns, ask for help, and work together more closely. It sets the stage for a team that’s not only high-performing but also more resilient in tough times. Improved Communication Empathy also improves communication. Once you understand what Alex is going through, you can adapt your communication accordingly. Maybe deadlines need to be adjusted, or some tasks need to be reassigned temporarily. By doing this, you prevent misunderstandings and create a more supportive atmosphere. Good communication is about more than just sharing information—it’s about connecting with people. When you show empathy, people feel more comfortable being open and honest, which leads to more effective teamwork. Empathy Fuels Innovation Empathy is also a driver of innovation. When people feel safe and supported, they’re more willing to share ideas and take creative risks. In a team where empathy is practiced, individuals know they won’t be judged harshly if their ideas don’t work out. This encourages more open collaboration and sparks creativity. Creating a Supportive Environment A team that practices empathy creates a supportive and positive work environment. When people feel understood and valued, they’re more likely to go the extra mile for each other. This doesn’t just lead to better performance, but also makes the workplace more enjoyable. How do you foster empathy in your team? Have you experienced moments where empathy made a difference? Let’s discuss! #Empathy #Teamwork #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture

Every day, in each interaction, we teach people how to treat us. Stand tall and articulate your truth, never allowing external voices to dim your light or silence your voice. In a world where external forces often steer us toward doubt and uncertainty, always remember this: your value is immeasurable, and you are more than enough just as you are. Don't succumb to feelings of inadequacy due to others' words or actions. Knowing your worth is crucial. It requires creating environments that nurture respect and the company of individuals who uplift and appreciate you, just as you are. Commit to advocating for your truth and fostering an atmosphere of respect and self-affirmation. You deserve it. #SpeakYourTruth #TeachRespect #StandUpForYourself #YouAreEnough #AuthenticSelf #DailyWisdom #FosterRespect

Compassion. This is the vital ingredient in all interactions, and should be a part of the curricula in life. After all, deliberate behaviours speak more to an individuals education than the knowledge they can recite. #Coaching #Education
