When I first started my business I had low confidence that I could make a living from writing. Maybe because I’d never done it before. Maybe because it was scary to ‘niche’ Maybe because I didn’t know how to run a business and thought I had to do everything myself! Oh, also I didn’t know where I’d find some clients and y’know, pay those bloody bills. There was no going back to the rat race for me, so this had to work. So I started telling everyone I was an awards writer and took myself off pitching for work. Hello inner critic. Every day whispering to me “Who the F are you trying to be?” I felt like an imposter. So I busied myself with the things I didn’t HAVE to do in my business. Socials, trackers, templates I didn’t need… Faffy silly tasks. Another voice kept whispering “going back’s not an option”. So I kept going… Trying, focussing, failing, falling. Networking. Connecting. Collaborating. Spending money, time and energy that started to fade. BUT it paid off. I look at the women I help. I’m in awe that I get to be the person in this circle of F*ing fantastic women. Thank you to you all 😘 #awards2024 #awardwriter #awards2025
