Since the launch of our bookstores with social purpose LoveReading and LoveReading4Kids has donated £60,000 of free books to schools, and we want to do more. We need to do more. With your help we can. With a community of 300,000 booklovers, including 14,000 schools, we are supporting over 5 million children per year. It has become clear that as a small organisation, we don’t have the resources we need to support all of the schools who so desperately need our help. Over 770 schools with severe deprivation have already applied for our Funding for Schools scheme, showing how widespread the challenges are with funding literacy. We are calling out for additional partners to help us fund more books in schools. Because reading matters and books change lives. We understand the importance of social value and as an organisation with social purpose ourselves, we are keen to work with partners who place significant credence in it. Because community, social value and legacy matters. If you think you can help, we would welcome a conversation. Please get in touch on deborah@lovereading.co.uk #fundingforschools #socialvalue #ESG #socialvalueimpact #community #communityengagement #education #future #legacy #literacy #readingmatters

Co-founder&Director at Path Youth Organization||Seasoned Program Manager||Youth Development Practitioner||Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist||Educationist
Over years since co-founding Path Youth Organisation, I have learnt alot that about leadership, especially as a young person leading fellow young people. As a young person leading a team of young people, I've learnt it's important to understand that leadership is not about age, but rather about the ability to inspire and motivate others. Being a young leader can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. One of the most important things that I've always kept in mind when leading this team of young people is to lead by example. This means being a role model for your team, setting a positive tone, and demonstrating the behaviors and values that you expect from your team members. Another key aspect of leading a team of young people that I've gained is to be a good listener. Young people have unique perspectives and ideas, and it's important to create an environment where they feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and opinions. By listening to my team members, I gain valuable insights and ideas that can help you make better decisions and achieve your goals. Finally, it's important to be flexible and adaptable as a young leader. Young people are often full of energy and creativity, and they may have different ways of approaching problems or tasks. By being open to new ideas and approaches, I create a more dynamic and innovative team that is better equipped to tackle challenges and achieve success. I am happy to and glad to be leading Path Youth Organisation.
Appreciation to everyone at Path Youth Organization. The members of Path Youth Organisation are an inspiration to many people with their hard work and dedication to the community. They have accomplished so much over the years, from organizing community events to working with children and youth. Their work has made a real difference in the lives of so many people. We would like to encourage everyone to support Path Youth Organization in any way they can. Whether you volunteer, donate, or simply spread the word about the great work they do, every little bit helps. Thank you again to everyone at Path Youth Organization for all that you do. You are making the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time! #transforminglives #education #sdg4

Donations will help us find affordable textbook options, grow our collection, and host more exciting events. You can donate from now until April 26 by following this link: https://lnkd.in/gNh58fVD P.S. - if you are interested in being an ambassador for Pearson Library please DM me! Proud Mancunian | Fundraiser | Relationship Builder | Hyper Connector | Developer of People | 10 x Marathon & Iron Man Finisher
And we’re off…….. #July1000 Day 1. Ride 1 1000 miles to ride to raise funds for a #Podcast room here at Manchester Youth Zone To put in some form of context, the #TourDeFrance (raced by professionals) is around 2200 miles, and they have support cars and teams 😂. I’m riding half of that and it’s just me and my water bottle I'm doing this because I want to help the #YoungPeople in this community and give them opportunities they may not readily have available if it weren't for the work we do here. We tell the kids that walk through our doors that where they grow up doesn’t determine their future, they do – and that’s what we’re here to achieve. Manchester Youth Zone is in #Harpurhey, the 2nd worst ward in England for the effect of long-term deprivation on children. This means many are vulnerable to poor educational attainment, future worklessness and falling in to antisocial or offending behaviour. In the local area: Unemployment is 16.2% (national rate 7.5%) 48% of families live below the poverty line 11% of 16-18-year-olds are not in employment, education or training The good news is we give young people countless opportunities to change that story for themselves. We believe young people can create their own futures by being supported to dream bigger and aim higher. 35.23 miles under the belt in 2 hrs 17 minutes. This is going to be a hard month! This will be the standard every day. Some days I may do more to enable a rest day but with 965 miles to go I can’t rest too much 😂 So with that, if you’re able to and would like to support my efforts please do. It’ll make the pain of walking up the stairs at work worth while! The link to do so is below. Thanks so much to those who have donated early to get this moving. https://lnkd.in/eWxBEjXg I won’t post every ride, as that’s just boring 😂😂 I will do a few though to keep those who are interested, up to date! If you want to keepo track here's a little tracker I've made.... https://lnkd.in/ensRqYyW #Challenge #Fundraising

Did you know that in cities like #Chicago and #Houston, about 45% of white students attend private schools, while only 13% and 7% of non-white students do? This stark difference highlights a form of #EducationInequity still present in our schools today. Every child deserves equal opportunities to learn and succeed, regardless of their background. 🎓 At #EducateRadiateElevate, we're committed to bridging this #AchievementGap by providing high-quality #tutoring and support to #UnderResourcedStudents and give them opportunities they otherwise would not have access to. Your support can make a real difference in #StudentSuccess! ❤️ 👉 𝘞𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮? 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯.
