For the second consecutive year the UK battery storage pipeline has increased by two-thirds according to @RenewableUK EnergyPulse Energy Storage report. Although RenewableUK’s director of future electricity systems Barnaby Wharton, says “While there has been significant uptake in projects, we are long way from delivering the 55 GW of short-term flexibility by 2035 that the Government says we need in its Review of Electricity Market Arrangements. We have the potential to move much faster by speeding up the process of consenting and connecting vital energy storage projects to the grid.” #energytransition #renewable

Why sell your excess renewable power with a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)? 💸 Income - the income is often based on a fixed price for the agreed period, but sometimes on a variable rate reflecting near-term market movements. 🌎 Selling renewable electricity to the grid through a PPA helps to displace more carbon-intensive power generation sources (e.g. natural gas) and moves the UK closer to #NetZero. ⚖️ Renewable generation projects can occur in areas of domestic and commercial consumption. When this happens, they can help balance supply and demand in local grid areas, reduce the losses associated with transmission and distribution, and lower costs overall.
