This past week, our Healthcare Rebel Alliance series featured an interview with Clint Flanagan, MD, Founder of Nextera Healthcare. Dr. Flanagan, a pioneering figure in the Direct Primary Care (DPC) movement, offers profound insights into the future of healthcare. 🏥 We found Dr. Flanagan's perspective on maintaining affordable care inspiring. Fun fact: he's never raised his rates in 15 years of practice. 😍 For those seeking inspiration and a fresh outlook on healthcare, we recommend reading the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/gp7SRTYS

"Outcome based care is too hard" "You'll have to force us to transition from Fee-for-Service" If you work in healthcare, you have likely heard a version of the above. Turns out, getting started with outcome based primary care isn't as hard as many would like us to believe. See how in the Brookings Toolkit for Adopting Accountable Care. Link in first comment!

Is this how you make healthcare better, more equitable, and more affordable? Becker's Healthcare emailed me to register for $2000-$6000 to attend this meeting and hear speakers like the former Super Bowl MVP and 43rd President. Now I know that they are good speakers. And I also know that they get $100,000 to $200,000 per speech. And there are several more. So this is one big expensive meeting. But is this part of the $4 trillion annual US healthcare spend? You can be sure it is expensed by the healthcare systems. Just wondering when this madness will all end; or are we in an endless loop of burgeoning expenses and marginally valuable activities? Just asking.

We don’t need to hear from George W. Bush to make healthcare better. We need to hear from other healthcare experts. I completely agree with the assessment below. It is exactly why I create SoMeDocs! And it is exactly why I now run virtual conferences that I’m filling with experts, which are even FREE to attend while they’re live, if registering early enough! It’s about remaining cognizant of costs, all while maintaining the quality and value. Please consider supporting by donating, joining, participating in, or collaborating with, SoMeDocs(Doctors on Social Media)!

Going to repost this commentary AGAIN because it so accurately describes what bothers me about our healthcare system today. There are SO MANY great options for speakers in everyday doctors!!! Like, so many options are out there, and these doctors charge much, much, MUCH less!! Here’s a SPEAKER Directory I built out, and regularly nurture, adding in pages filled with expert speakers available to speak at anyone’s next event, often for a fraction of the cost therse celebs would charge! Keep costs down, keep information exchange flowing! https://lnkd.in/d-PCr4hn

Thank you Crain's New York Business and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) for putting together the Health Care Summit in NYC. It was great to hear from local NY leaders about the oncoming policy changes to Medicaid & Medicare, learn more about the many challenges that hospital systems are facing, and how new technologies will help healthcare organizations adapt to the ever changing landscape. While most agreed that these organizations face a lot of problems and growing pains today, those same folks felt we are moving healthcare towards the goal of more accessibility, affordability, and higher quality treatment.

Vice President-Employee Benefits /Helping Companies Improve Their Competitive Advantage / Life has no remote...Get up and change it!
I'm hearing from employers more frequently of the need for both cost and quality of care data to integrate into their benefits strategy. As we move downstream in this conversation, what they are really asking is "How can I incentivize our plan members to make the best decisions - both from a quality of care and cost perspective?" This makes perfect sense. Cost and network challenges abound and show no signs of retreating. The reality is that Indiana is a high-cost healthcare state - Unfortunately, we have unhealthy population and our medical providers are increasingly more consolidated. This isn't a great recipe for affordable healthcare costs. Employers have the opportunity to marry cost and quality of care data and put it at plan members' fingertips to empower them to make provider choices that will deliver the best outcomes. The tools are out there....
