Creativity Challenge in Fashion Design: In this challenge,we will design modern clothing inspired by various painting styles. Our goal is to gain a deeper understanding of these styles and foster creativity in fashion design. By exploring the world of art and fashion,we will create innovative ideas! 🎨👗 The design of this dress was inspired by a painting in the Rococo style, created by me. The Rococo style, which emerged in early 18th-century France,is recognized as an artistic and architectural movement that responded to the Baroque style. This style is characterized by intricate ornamentation, soft and light colors, and themes of romance and informality. In interior design,Rococo emphasizes small, intimate spaces and the use of furniture with curved and luxurious designs. In fashion design,Rococo also left a profound impact.Garments were crafted with abundant embellishments, expensive fabrics, and flowing, curved cuts. Large, layered skirts, along with decorative accessories such as elaborate hats and jewelry, contributed to the beauty and luxury of this style.Overall,Rococo symbolizes the opulent and carefree lifestyle of its time, emphasizing beauty and pleasure. #Creativity #Digital #Fashion #Fashion_Designer #Digital_illustration #2D

The medallion pattern is a classic design element used in carpets. This pattern is characterised by a central motif, often floral or geometric, surrounded by intricate borders and patterns. Medallion patterns are typically used to create a sense of symmetry and balance. Earlier, the central motif was generally a symbol of power or wealth, while the surrounding patterns represented the connection between heaven and earth. In modern carpet design, medallion patterns have evolved to incorporate fresh colours, textures and materials, giving them a more contemporary look. #Kalinkaari #medallionpattern #carpetdesign

Alissa Demorest / Formes De Luxe Reviving a Timeless Craft: Antoinette Poisson In the heart of Paris, just a stone's throw from the Place de la Bastille, Antoinette Poisson is breathing new life into a nearly forgotten art form: domino paper, or papier dominoté. This decorative craft, which reached its peak in the 18th century, is now being expertly handcrafted by co-founders Jean-Baptiste Martin and Vincent Farelly. Originally sought for restoration projects, their journey led to a deep passion for this artisanal technique. The intricate process involves creating sheets of paper that not only preserve the historical charm of the past but also serve as stunning motifs for wallpaper, fabrics, and various decorative objects. Domino paper tells stories of history and evolution, showcasing a sociological tapestry of style and taste over time. As production manager Axelle de Fabry notes, each sheet is crafted with care, echoing the craftsmanship of the past. Using high-quality materials sourced from a traditional French paper mill, the result is a unique blend of texture and durability. From wallpaper to limited-edition collaborations, including a recent partnership with Fragonard, Antoinette Poisson is not just preserving a craft; they are innovating within it. With an expanding range of products—from fragrances to home textiles—they are continually inspired by the beauty of imperfection that hand-crafted goods embody. #AntoinettePoisson #Craftsmanship #Artisanal #DominoPaper #InteriorDesign #Innovation #Heritage #Sustainability

"Minimalism isn't about removing things you love. It's about removing the things that distract you from the things you love." — Joshua Becker Perfectly captures our brief for this concept retail store for a luxury jewellery brand, now nominated for the upcoming Commercial Interior Design awards. We designed the space to be a canvas that lets the artist and the art shine. Drawing from Japanese wabi-sabi minimalism, our goal was to showcase the perfection of curated jewellery against an intentionally imperfect backdrop. The layout mirrors the journey of a rough stone from the quarry to the store, with the main wall evolving from an undulating, asymmetric form into modern sophistication. We opted for a minimalist palette to let the materials do the talking—textured walls highlight imperfections, while polished travertine and bronzed details on the display shelves add a luxe touch. Lighting was designed to be almost invisible, focusing all attention on the jewellery. The only exception? A decorative pendant in the centre, mimicking diamonds on an entangled necklace. Now there’s a shopping experience that feels more like strolling through a museum of stunning art! #newproject

👀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀❔ #Velvet is known for its opulent sheen and its distinctive capacity to reflect light in a multitude of ways. The direction of the velvet pile can change the fabric's light reflection. Light-reflecting off the pile brushed in one direction may seem darker or lighter compared to when brushed in the opposite direction, resulting in color difference. Velvet's soft and fine texture gives it a sense of depth in appearance. As light interacts with the textured surface, it can create subtle shifts in hue. The orientation of the pile, how light strikes the velvet, and the fabric's texture all work together to produce the multi-tonal effects often associated with velvet decor. The multi-tonal appearance of velvet is seen as a desirable trait, enhancing the visual appeal of decorative items or furniture. However, variations in velvet's color can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, such as discrepancies between the sample's color and that of the bulk order.
