These are the kinds of projects that make it all the long days and early mornings worth it. Bouthillette Parizeau Cleland Jardine Engineering (Now BPA) #ImpactfulEngineering
Today was a very special day. Ten and a half years later we were able to celebrate the opening of Dave’s Dream. The Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre had a beautiful ribbon cutting/opening today. Everyone’s word and appreciation of not only the building but what it represents for youth in our community was amazing. I have so much pride in this project, the team we worked with ( Lesley Watson Mike Watson ) our consultant (BPA, CJE, Novatech) amazing clients ( Kevin Crawford and Mike Beauchesne and construction team at Laurin construction. It is bittersweet to see this all wrap up but we can wait for everyone to move in and continue to make a difference. The fundraising campaign “Village of Hope” is still ongoing. Please reach out to Cindy Manor to see how you can help. #dsytc #davesdream #youthtreatmentcentre #community #ottawa #ottawaarchitects #ruralsite #villageofhope #mentalhealthmatters #grandopening Project photos to follow soon. https://lnkd.in/eKj7qX_W

We’d like to share the news that The Green Estate has joined the Community Wealth Fund Alliance. The CWFA is a group of over 700 civil society, public and private sector organisations who support the Community Wealth Fund campaign. The campaign advocates for funding for neighbourhoods that have missed out on their fair share of funding and lack vital social infrastructure. These are neighbourhoods assessed as having high levels of deprivation that have lost facilities and services including community centres, pubs and transport links, and their residents can often feel forgotten or ‘left behind’. Transforming Spaces, Empowering Lives Can a historic building breathe new life into a community? In Hamilton, Ontario, the former Hamilton Trinity Baptist Church is set to be reborn as a supportive housing facility, preserving its rich history while serving adults with disabilities. This ambitious project, led by Cianfrone Architect Inc. and overseen by the Luso Canadian Charitable Society, promises to create a nurturing space with central kitchens and activity areas. Backed by a $2.7 million federal grant and contributions from local partners, this $20 million project is a testament to what's possible when communities come together. Not only will it provide crucial housing and support, but it will also create new jobs, boosting the local economy. What are your thoughts on adaptive reuse of historic buildings? Could this be a model for other communities? Let's discuss how we can leverage historical preservation to meet modern needs. #RealEstateInnovation #CommunityDevelopment
