Attended Prof. Morten Meldal's Inspiring Talk at CSIR-IGIB! Hello LinkedIn community, I am thrilled to share that I had the opportunity to attend a captivating talk by the esteemed Professor Morten Meldal (Nobel laureate in Chemistry 2022) at CSIR-IGIB on February 2, 2024. As a Structural Bioinformatician, I found immense inspiration in Prof. Meldal's groundbreaking work, particularly his contributions to the CuACC click reaction and the incorporation of molecular dynamics simulations in his recent projects. Prof. Morten Meldal 's expertise in the CuACC click reaction, a powerful tool for bioconjugation, opens up exciting possibilities in biology. The precision and efficiency of this reaction have far-reaching implications for studying molecular interactions, and beyond. Furthermore, his incorporation of molecular dynamics simulations in recent research is particularly intriguing. The ability to observe and analyze the dynamic behaviour of biomolecules at the atomic level provides invaluable insights for someone like me, working in the realm of structural bioinformatics. It enhances our understanding of biological systems and paves the way for designing targeted experiments and interventions. I am grateful for the opportunity to gain deeper insights into these methodologies and their applications during Prof. Meldal's talk. This event was a remarkable opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking. Warsaw-4-PhD behind the scenes: Warsaw Doctoral School in Natural and Biomedical Sciences and the Institute of Organic Chemistry PAS presents Advanced Lecture Series. Dr. Andrii Klymchenko from the Laboratory of Biophotonics and Pharmacology, University of Strasbourg, France gave a talk entitled ”Fluorescent dyes and probes for biological applications”. Fluorescent environment-sensitive probes are specially designed dyes that change their fluorescence intensity (fluorogenic) or color (e.g. solvatochromic) in response to changes in their microenvironment polarity, viscosity, and molecular order. The studies of the last decade have shown that these molecules become universal tools in fluorescence sensing and imaging. Any biomolecular interaction or change in biomolecular organization results in modification of the local microenvironment, which these probes can directly monitor. We are proud to sponsor Gordon Research Conferences Intrinsically Disordered Proteins 2024! 🙌 Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), as opposed to intrinsically foldable proteins, do not adopt unique folded structures but instead exist as ensembles of dynamic and unstructured interconverting conformations. IDPs and ID regions function through these conformational ensembles and are drivers of biological outputs. The conformations of IDPs are a direct consequence of their sequences, physicochemical properties, and the environment in which they reside. IDPs come in many different flavours, exemplified by sequence features such as amino acid composition and patterning, and they can exist in the context of multi-domain proteins and in different environmental contexts. Combined, this determines their functions and mechanisms of action in different cells and organisms. Sequences can also encode material properties that emerge when many molecules come together in large assemblies, and this is important in biological function as well as for biomaterial science. Understanding how the sequence grammar and the precise context give rise to conformations and functions, from single molecules to assemblies, on time scales from picoseconds to years, is important for elucidating how IDPs shape biology and how their dysregulation gives rise to diseases. GRC's vision for this meeting is to bring scientists at all levels and from many fields together to tackle interdisciplinary questions on IDPs in biological function and disease-related dysfunction. Sessions will prioritize emerging research focusing on the quantitative elucidation of fundamental principles and mechanisms using biophysical, biochemical, cell biological, computational, and theoretical approaches, showcasing biological functions of IDPs across the cellular landscape. With the grace of Almighty Iam thrilled to announce that My research article entitled "Exploring the antibiofilm and toxicity of tin oxide nanoparticles: Insights from in vitro and in vivo investigations" has been published in"Microbial Pathogenesis" journal with the IF-3. 8 This research delves into the antibiofilm properties and toxicity of tin oxide nanoparticles through in vitro and in vivo experiments. It aims to understand how these nanoparticles interact with biofilms and their potential impact on living organisms. The findings likely shed light on the efficacy of tin oxide nanoparticles against biofilms and their safety profile, including any adverse effects observed in living organisms. Honored to complete a 5-day workshop on Molecular Informatics! 🎓 I had the incredible opportunity to learn from industry leaders, including a Director from AstraZeneca (USA) Ming Tang, experts in computational biology Mike Saint-Antoine, and the CEOs of Algomics and BioCode Sheraz Ahmad. It was also a privilege to be mentored by an Associate Professor from NUST. It was an amazing opportunity to deepen my understanding of computational techniques in molecular biology and connect with leading professionals in the field.
