"Our collective future relies on regeneration of our environmental, social, and economic systems so that all life can thrive." But how do you actually get started doing this important work? At the recent Wall Street Green Digital Summit, our own Mitch Ratcliffe and Samantha Bazant presented on the need for urgency around regenerative practices and presented our new offering: a card deck featuring nine principles of regenerative design. This innovative card deck can be used to help organizations reflect on their processes and catalyze changes to reduce waste and become more regenerative overall. This critical reflection serves as a step towards truly regenerative operations. Check out their full talk below, which includes an introduction from our CEO, Michael Dix. #regeneration #greeneconomy #regenerativebusiness #circulareconomy

♻️ Going Circular ♻️ Second inspiration session of this Circularity week, and our fourth Lely Campus Cinema 🎦: the screening of Going Circular. Curious to find out how the insights of these four visionairs will inspire us about the secrets of circularity - an economic system that eliminates waste and saves the planet’s resources. And how we at Lely can speed up with this important transition. Thanks Circle Economy to facilitate this screening! And big shout-out to Martijn Boelens for opening this screening and addressing the importance and opportunities of ‘going circular’ ♻️. #Lely #CampusCinema #goingcircular #circularity #circular #circulareconomy #circularityweek #zerowaste

During our recent Sustainability in AV conference, Kinly's global CSR lead Rhea Horlock hosted a panel discussion featuring industry leaders from Microsoft, Cisco and Sharp/NEC. The conversation centred around one of the most pressing issues in our field: e-waste. Our expert panellists Nico Teunissen, Matt Channing and Erik H. Okstad shared their valuable insights and innovative approaches to tackling this challenge. From using more recyclable materials and designing products for easy repair to establishing take-back programs for end-of-life equipment, each of our partners highlighted their commitment to fostering a circular economy in the AV industry. Here are some key takeaways: 🔄 Microsoft: Focused on using sustainable materials and enhancing product repairability. 🔄 Cisco: Leading initiatives to reclaim and recycle old equipment, reducing the carbon footprint. 🔄 Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe GmbH: Innovating with eco-friendly design and encouraging recycling through product lifecycle programs. I’m sure you love my long-winded posts that say nothing about something… so here’s another one. About 4 years ago, I remember getting into my car and accidentally dropping my phone (the fear that came over me was the same as when you accidentally kerb an alloy - dread, anticipation of “how bad is it going to be when I see it” and worry - “how much is it going to cost?”) Even though I owned a high-end ‘strong glassed’ device which didn’t run on Android (I’m sure you can guess the brand), it turned out my screen was indeed smashed. And I had to pay £180 to get it replaced. Wonderful. Anyhow, smashed screens are just the tip of the iceberg nowadays. We all want our phones to last longer, and I’m proud to work for a company that is making sure all bases are covered - screen replacement, new battery or a broken USB port - why spend huge amounts on replacements when you can fix it yourself with official parts for a fraction of the price?! We’re super-proud of HMD’s partnership with the brilliant iFixit, as we continue our strive for longevity, sustainability and repairability. We broke (lol!) ground with the Nokia G22 a year back; followed it up by the Nokia G42 last summer, and last month released the HMD Pulse Pro. All three devices are easily-repairable yourself. (And there’s more down the track too). Long may it continue (though it’s a shame not *every* manufacturer thinks down the consumer, affordability & sustainability lense like we do)
At HMD, we’re committed to sustainability and repairability. We have a strong partnership with iFixit! Together, we’re making it easier for you to keep your phones longer by simplifying repairs. Let’s change the game and reduce electronic waste. Join us in this sustainable journey! 🌍💚 https://lnkd.in/dkrWCN3q
