This hilarious ad for Delta Lloyd shows us that no matter how dangerous the situation may be, they have got us covered. The Cannes Lions (2001) and D&AD (2002) winning commercial was a bold and amusing take on insurance, with a narrative that follows a fictional scenario involving the North Korean regime, delivering a clever cliff-hanger that leaves us chuckling towards the end. What really makes this ad stand out is how it takes something as serious as insurance and flips it on its head with humour as the brand lands its message brilliantly, without even mentioning insurance directly—it’s all in the storytelling. Dear Hefin David MS and Natasha Asghar MS - I've written to both of you, as my Senedd members, as I am not sure who would be best placed to deal with this matter, once and for all... It's a complicated matter but bottom line is Visit Wales have engaged in discrimination against guided walk leaders/businesses/events from March 2020 through to now by listing only those that are prepared to pay for their not fit for purpose adventure activity accreditation scheme. This has led to there being no guided walks for tourists to Wales available on the Visit Wales website despite the previous two years, 2023 and 2024, being the Visit Wales 'Wales by Trails' years. Despite Visit Wales own protocols for onboarding which prohibited this, Visit Wales maintains the listings of re-sellers and agents who offer guided walks who have no skills in the outdoors and can be situated anywhere in the world, all without requiring these operators to have any activity accreditation.  I have evidence of this going back to March 2020, have assurances, meetings and indeed I even met with Mark Drakeford when he was FM but he has subsequently gone silent despite assuring me he would remedy this situation.  I have forced a full review of the scheme, begun in Jan 2023 and still the outcomes of that review have not been made public. My business Wales Outdoors was refused a listing from March 2023 through to the summer of 2024. At this point, I sold Wales Outdoors to my wife, who is a project manager and not a mountain leader, and she managed to have Wales Outdoors listed within a week. That truly makes zero sense.  I have detailed my discussions and campaigning with and against Visit Wales and can make all of the information available to you. I do hope that you think this is a worthy cause given the breaking by Visit Wales of Visit Wales own rules and the damage to tourism in Wales that the managers at Visit Wales have been happy to preside over. Furthermore, the cost of dealing with me and my complaints over the five years, including a court action, meetings, implementation of new protocols (not adhered to) and the full review has been considerable and this is money and effort I believe ought to have been used for Wales and not against SME's in Wales. I am letting a number of journalists know that I am seeking representation through you, my representatives and hope that they will report on this shocking state of affairs.
