What can financial institutions do to protect themselves from the environmental and financial risks of deep sea mining? 1️⃣ Join the global moratorium on deep sea mining alongside leading banks, investors, businesses, governments, and scientists (https://lnkd.in/epQ3nueN). 2️⃣ Develop a publicly disclosed policy committing not to invest in or finance companies or projects involved in deep sea mining. This could mean adding to existing policies on mining and extractive sectors. 3️⃣ Engage with sectors that could use deep sea minerals like solar and wind power, electric vehicles, consumer electronics and steel.
