We're looking at incredibly complex, nonlinear systems. Anybody who claims that they can predict the future with some level of certainty and will tell you it's inevitable that we're facing collapse or it's inevitable that we're going to hit a singularity and AI is going to take over everything and humans will merge with artificial intelligence—any of these things. I believe there's nothing inevitable about any of it. Each of us are agents as part of this complex system that is self-organizing into one of these new, relatively stable equilibria that we are not in right now. So, it leads to a sense of agency that each of us, no matter how small we might feel, we're actually part of something much much bigger. ---- #JeremyLent #DeepTransformationNetwork #SystemsThinking #DeepTransformation #WisdomTraditions

Information architect, content strategist & online innovator since 1995. Knowledge management, innovation, collaboration & communication strategist. Founder, MyHub.ai
Since the release of the model collapse paper in Nature, I've been working on a blog post about its implications for online communities, collective intelligence and what I've started calling #AI4communities. It isn't ready. In fact, I'm a bit stuck because I need input from experts in the Bluesky and Nostr protocols. So I started publishing my drafts using the "permanent versions" pattern so I can get feedback and input from friends (link in comments). Then I thought: maybe listening to it might get me unstuck, so I fed it and almost all the cited source material to NotebookLLM, which created this podcast: https://lnkd.in/eUrJJheB It'd be really interesting if you'd have a listen *before* reading my thoughts, in the comments, so we can compare notes.

Our founder Jess Price has been playing with Google's new Notebook LM Audio Overviews... If you're curious about what an AI generated podcast episode about our Essential Elements of Work sounds like, you can listen on the first episode of our podcast, Work In Progress: Sharing Paradigm Markers' Internal Experiments. Will there be more episodes? Maybe, but for now Jess thought this was too funny not to share! Let us know your thoughts in the comments. #WorkButDifferent #AI #EssentialElementsOfWork

Doubt is not a dirty word. Yet in many places in life - work included - we look down on it. We praise and reward clarity, certainty and the “good” questions. And find doubt and scepticism time-consuming, annoying and even stupid. But, we’re getting it all wrong. When rejecting doubt we are missing opportunities to: 🏵️ Understand the world around us 🏵️ Define what is relevant and important 🏵️ Give a direction to our curiosity - and know where to direct our good questions 🏵️ Decide where we want to invest our valuable time Doesn’t that sound like something we should embrace? In the latest episode of The Experience Designers Podcast , Pia Lauritzen, PhD and myself explore what potential and pitfalls a question holds, how questions are what makes us unique in the face of AI and what is needed in us to fully leverage the power of both our doubt and our curiosity. An enlightening and explorative conversation, where both of us got to dive head first into exploring our own doubts. Tune into the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/de2e_gzB - or on your favourite platform. You don’t want to miss it! And of course - always curious to know. What does doubt evoke in you? And how do you spend time with it? #morehumanexperiences #questions #doubt

We used NotebookLM to create a "Podcast" summarizing the key takeaways from the 2024 Humalogy® Trends Report🎧 In just a few minutes and two clicks, Google's AI created a 17 minute podcast that creates a narrative around the Report's findings and their implications. The "hosts" incorporated tone, emotion, and humor to emulate a natural conversation. There were a few errors/hallucinations adding terms like the "implementation paradox" that weren't mentioned in the report. They also mispronounced Humalogy® (hyoo•maa•luh•jee) but we'll let it slide! Listen here👇 https://hubs.ly/Q02Ss0Xr0 And download the full report at https://hubs.ly/Q02SrXql0

There is no “one good way” of asking questions. No single specific technique or sentence structure that will optimise our results or outcomes. Instead, intentionally creating more space for doubt and questions in our work and interactions, asks us to practice self-awareness and focus more on our mindset. ▶ Being aware of our assumptions ▶ Admitting and accepting that we don’t know ▶ Sharing honestly with others that you don’t know ▶ Practicing our capacity to be with the unknown From that place, it can become a conversation geared for growth and learning. Sounds simple (perhaps), but in a society that rewards certainty, clarity and knowledge over all - this can be a scary notion. So. There might not be “one good way” to ask questions, but is there a bad way to do it? Tune into the full conversation to find out, how Pia Lauritzen, PhD answered this question she had never gotten before… __________________________ In episode 54 of The Experience Designers Podcast, Pia and myself explore what potential and pitfalls a question holds, how questions are what makes us unique in the face of AI and what is needed in us to fully leverage the power of both our doubt and our curiosity. When analyzing data, it’s important to balance human insight with algorithmic results. As Sarah Stemen, MBA points out, algorithms reflect human behavior, but they’re not the full story. It’s not just about adjusting bids or quick fixes—it’s about understanding the why behind the data. With experience, you can combine intuition with the data for smarter, more effective decisions. Don’t rely solely on the algorithm—trust your expertise too. And, don't forget to tune in to the next episode of the #EndlessCoffeeCup Podcast on Wednesday, October 9th. #DataDriven #MarketingStrategy #HumanInsight #ExperienceMatters

“ Let’s get deep”!! I’ve noticed that this phrase seems to be used more than ever. Talking about being deep, getting deep, understanding things on a very deep level. I’ve hard podcast hosts introduce their guest by saying “ Today we are getting really deep”! As if just saying deep and complicated things is value by itself. It’s really interesting. I think there is value in simple and basic understanding. And I think there is also value in delving deeper and having a more sophisticated and nuanced understanding of things. The root, the source. We should make sure that we aren’t learning and understanding things the same way we did as a kid! But we also want to make sure we are actually understanding it and not just saying catch phrases like “wow, so deep man”! What do you think? Do people have more drive or motivation to delve deeper into things than in the past? Do you think it’s a gimmick or a genuine desire to work hard and understand things on a real level? ( There is a parallel to the therapy process as well. Continued in comments )

[NEW EPISODE] Do you think Artificial Intelligence is coming after your job? Let’s face it – the world is a scary place right now. The level of angst that we have gotten used to living with, day in and day out is, actually, quite alarming – if we allowed ourselves the time to stop and think about it. In this episode I hope you remind you of what a magnificent, complex being you are and recognise the challenge we have before us. The quicker you identify, articulate and embrace your human diversity, the faster you will be ready to overpower any risk of AI replacing human-driven work in your field. Come join me. Episode 40 of my podcast, A Higher Level ⬆️, has just dropped! 🎧 Listen: https://lnkd.in/gQBtxh3X 📺 Watch: https://lnkd.in/gZSwK94m This is the introduction to the second series of Season 2, which is about my new theory of human commerce. We humans engage in commerce at every moment. We're used to thinking of commerce in a specific way, but it actually has a much broader and more universally relevant definition which is capable of contextualizing and explaining all of human behavior, and that's what Commerce Theory is about. In the series that follows we'll unpack my theory of commerce step by step, examining, exploring, and explicating the 5 different layers that I discern behind every single human interaction. Fundamentally human society is always balancing the interplay of 2 different components, the individual and the group. Follow along with this series as it unfolds so you can more fruitfully observe, understand, and shape that dynamic within every group that you influence. Enjoy! 🎧 Listen: https://lnkd.in/gQBtxh3X 📺 Watch: https://lnkd.in/gZSwK94m
