As I approach my one-year anniversary at NewGen IT Technologies Pvt Ltd, formerly VCARE InfoTech Solutions and Services Pvt Ltd, I find myself reflecting deeply. It’s disheartening to see some former colleagues, who were once part of our company, now spreading unfounded rumors after leaving a few months ago. They should recognize that our company provided them ample opportunities for growth, both monetarily and in terms of promotion, opportunities they did not receive in their previous workplaces. There's a saying that resonates deeply with this situation: "People often criticize what they once cherished." It’s clear to me now why this occurs, but it prompts me to question: What do they gain by damaging their own integrity? They left the company under the influence of a former employee who was dismissed by management for poor performance, unethical behavior, and causing significant financial losses to the company. So why propagate such false feedback about a company that once belonged to them as well? Their behavior is truly questionable. If there are genuine concerns, why resort to hiding behind fake identities (including the company's name and their own) to voice them? Valid grievances deserve transparent discussion. Instead of diminishing their credibility, they should pinpoint where improvements are needed and seek resolution openly. Leaving a company should signify personal growth and encourage the same for others. Let’s foster constructive dialogue and leave groundless accusations behind.

As I celebrate my work anniversary today, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some invaluable lessons I have gathered in the past year of being a 'Corporate Girlie': ▶ Forging your own path: Cookie-cutter careers are so 1998! Instead of chasing prescribed routes, try carving your own niche - this could well be the beginning of a journey of self-discovery, unlocking hidden potential and leaving an impression which uniquely defines you! ▶ Embracing open doors: Make sure to leave the sugarcoating on your cupcakes and have candid conversations with your mentors on what is working, what isn't and most importantly what you truly want. This will help them help you forge your path! ▶ Intentional Networking: Think beyond Linkedin connections. In-person networking events if utilized tactfully can go a long way in helping you cultivate genuine and powerful connections in the workforce. Practise your elevator pitch and ditch the algorithm to find your real world tribe! ▶ Self - Advocacy: Blowing your own trumphet might not be very fun for a lot of us, but it is important to make sure you articulate your contibutions, celebrate milestones and own your own narrative. In my opinion, self-advocacy is the professional expression of self-value. ▶Embrace Balance: Hobbies have a transformative power which is pretty understated, they act as much needed distractions while granting you fresh perspectives. Make sure to indulge in your 5-9's as deeply as you do in your 9-5. P.s - Happy New Year and here's to a successful 2024!

Today is my two year work anniversary at Tempo Software! 🎉 Here are some lessons I've learnt: - Company culture is an individual effort. - There's no need to rush a decision or reply. - Find low hanging fruits, and fulfil them quickly. - Stakeholder relationships matter. Befriend everyone. - Showing what was done is as important as doing the work. - Boundaries are important to not be pulled in every direction. - Try not to stress too much. The bad times blow over quickly. - Working with smart, conscientious people makes work easy. - To not get seen as purely tactical communicate strategy too. Tempo does $100m+ ARR, and last year I was promoted to own the product marketing for our SaaS division and products! It's great to work on award-winning products, and an overall winning company. I've learnt a lot working here, and appreciate the amazing culture we have. Here's to many more years! For now, I celebrate. 🤝

Earlier this month I celebrated my 14.5 year anniversary (yes, I celebrate half anniversaries AND half birthdays...drives my kids crazy!). Many will look at this and say, "whoa, over 14 years with the same company...do people still do that?". I've started to ask myself the same question as I see numerous resumes with multiple jobs, linked-in posts encouraging people to job-hop to advance more quickly, and even some co-workers leave in less time than I have to "continue to stay green and growing". So what is the right answer? I guess it is to do what you enjoy and to continue doing that until it is no longer enjoyable. I started in my role in October of 2009 thinking this would be a temporary role (I'll just be here until something better comes along). I suppose I've kept true to that internal voice - it just so happens that I haven't found something better yet! Being able to help veterans everyday is a true joy (and with some a challange, a frustration, and others a huge burden to carry). As I continue to move toward 15+ years please let me know if I can help you along your journey and if your journey has a few pit stops that detour you from racking up longer years with one company know that if you are happy and if you enjoy what you're doing, don't worry about what others think.

A: "The most valuable lessons I’ve learned happened when everything was “going wrong.” It is in these moments where we have the choice to give up or use it as fuel for growth. While individual creativity is important, the most successful projects are born from a team effort, where diverse ideas come together to create something truly remarkable." Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of? A: "It is an interesting thing summing up one’s experiences over the course of 10 years. What a wild ride so far. I just celebrated my 9 year anniversary here commonsku. I think work anniversary's are funny. Thank yous and praise for staying somewhere. Likely because we are in a job market where people pop from one company to another, climbing the company directories by changing location. But not me, I've always been here. The question I get asked by far the most when I interview people for my department is "why". Again, to me this is funny. I work in a place that allows me to be my sarcastic, honest and sometimes stubborn self. A place that supports me professionally and personally. Where I am trusted in my decisions, opinions and thoughts. I am allowed to make mistakes, celebrate wins and (what I tell everyone in interviews) I don't need to pretend to be someone else between 9 and 5. Maybe I get asked because it is rare to find a place that does this. But that's the reason I should be saying thank you. This isn't meant to be a sappy post or telling you all how awesome my job, my coworkers, my bosses and my customers all are. I don't write my thoughts out often, but I feel like this is owed. A thank you from me to all of those people I just mentioned for allowing me to be here for 9 years, allowing me to be successful, trusting in me and making my work something I legitimately love to do. 9 years is just the start of my journey here. And I'm pumped to see what I can do in the next 9.

Today, I am honored to be celebrating my 16-Year Work Anniversary with my company! That is a lifetime to some. It feels amazing. The people who I have met, and the things that I have learned on this journey have shaped my life in so many ways. Here are some of the lessons that I have learned over the years... * Work/life balance is crucial. It is important not to lose sight of what you are working for. Take the vacation. Go to the little-league game. Live a good life. It is short and you only get ONE. So, work to live, not the other way around. * Be kind and respectful and greet everyone. Every person in every position. * Give your respect freely but give your trust wisely. Guard your heart and your personal life. Be discreet. Know the difference between being friends and being friendly. Check your emotions. Don’t react quickly. Observe silently. Avoid office politics and gossip. * Show up. Be consistent and take action. * Be sincere, intentional and authentic. This goes for both your business and your personal life. * Don’t be afraid to ask people to share their wisdom and experience with you. Share your knowledge with others. * Know the difference between healthy competition and unhealthy “comparisonitis”. * Use the right tools, organize everything, and keep good notes. * Clear is Kind. Keep your communications clear, concise and easy to understand. * Confidence in your abilities and knowing your value is important to your success. Believe in yourself and in your work.
