Can you do me a favor? I need help finding 3 talented, smart, and fun people to join the #marketing team in our #Chicago hub. Do you know a great copywriter, digital marketer, or event planner? Send them my way or drop them a link to one of the open roles (links in comments). I'll send you a virtual high-five--and return the favor the next chance I get. Please and thank you! PS: I've been in #govtech marketing for nearly a decade now. If you're curious about what keeps me in the space, here are 3 things I love about it: 1. It's meaningful work. 2. The customers are fun (and appreciate puns). 3. I learn something new every day.

While I believe so many B2B companies could benefit from hiring more creatives, rarely will creatives benefit by working for a B2B company The traditional career path is to work for an agency, not in-house An agency lets you explore multiple clients at once, using different parts of your brain, letting a creative be a creative In-house tends to be mundane, with the same thing over and over and over - not typically helpful for creatives "But, Rayna, why do you enjoy working at Commsor 🦕 so much? That's in-house!" It starts at the top. Since day 1, Mac has created a space for me to experiment. I get to try new things every day, it kinda feels like an agency Working with creatives (and probably social media managers too), you have to give them trust. When a piece of content goes through 100 review phases, it loses soul When you know who you're hiring and what they're capable of, you not only become more efficient, but the work gets better and better Beyond that, I feel empowered to create my own work I've had MULTIPLE people (unprompted) tell me that with the work I am making these days vs. a few months ago, they can tell where my headspace is at It's weird, sometimes managers of creatives want the creatives to just focus on them and their brand. When I first started, Gerhard and I talked about how we need the "everything else" to show up for Commsor The "everything else" is outside clients, personal projects, etc. And the entire Commsor team wholeheartedly supports my "everything else." Sometimes they're the first to see it. And they're always the first to give me a like or comment So if you're thinking about hiring a designer, videographer, or any type of creator. Empower them to be exactly that and they will show up for you in 10,000 more ways

The 'Do-It-All' Expectation on Social Media Managers"🎥 😥It’s becoming a common theme: expecting social media managers to wear every hat in the marketing department – from graphic designer to video editor, copywriter to analytics guru. But here’s the reality: just as we wouldn’t expect a graphic designer to craft ad strategy or a video editor to handle client communications, we can’t assume one person can excel at all these roles. 😏 Imagine asking: 📈 A data analyst to design compelling visuals. ✍️ A copywriter to manage and edit high-production videos. 🎥 A videographer to lead a brand’s digital strategy. Each role has its own skills and expertise, yet social media managers are often expected to do it all. This can lead to burnout and missed opportunities to create truly effective, creative content. What’s the solution? -Specialized Teams: Separate roles that allow social media managers to focus on strategy, engagement, and content direction. -Collaborative Processes: Create a workflow where designers, writers, and editors work together with social media managers. -Access to Tools & Training: Equip managers with tools and resources if they’re expected to work in multiple areas. ✨ A well-rounded team means better content and a healthier work environment. Let’s recognize the unique skills each role brings to the table! What do you think? Is it time to stop the “one-size-fits-all” approach? #SocialMedia #DigitalMarketing #ContentCreation #TeamCollaboration #Marketing #socialmediamanager #socialmediamarketing #hiring #workfromhome #linkedinspecialist #linkedinmarketing #jobs #changetheperspective #change #success #motivation #influencermarketing
