This scandal is part of a broader trend where the lofty goals of the NEP 2020, NAAC, and NIRF are being undermined by widespread malpractice across universities. While not every campus is marred by these issues, the disturbing frequency with which they occur reveals a systemic problem. From mandatory accreditations leading to unintended consequences to distorted faculty-to-student ratios designed to game ranking systems, our universities are in crisis.
