All stars ✨ #AI panel at World Economic Forum #Davos this week, including among others Yann LeCun, Andrew Ng, Kai-Fu Lee. Here are some highlights i picked up: 1. Various views amongst the panelists, but is seems we have a consensus that the rate of progress in AI will stay similar or even increase in the years to come 2. #LLMs architecture will not lead straight to #AGI (e.g. just by scaling compute power). Still, the impact of the currently available models is generating lots of value that will still be harvested by various players 3. To move towards AGI fundamental breakthroughs on the architecture of AI are still needed (e.g. we still are far away from understanding how humans learn) 4. We should have foundational models that are #opensource to ensure safety, and accessibility of AI. This is at risk due to powerful forces that amongst others might take the form of premature over regulation -> hint Europe! 🙏 5. We should not forget that the latest innovations in AI are built on decades of academic research and #opensource tools developed by so many people across the globe. It goes way beyond just Microsoft and OpenAI. Much more in the attached video if you can spare 45 minutes ;) Highly recommended https://lnkd.in/d5SAMsDp

Head of IT & Digital Technology | Empowering People through Innovation & Transformation | Proven Leadership
We often hear about AI's potential to transform our work, but we don't often see it in action, especially in SMBs. I recently had a great conversation and learned a lot from Guido Maciocci. He is building complexity and layers into the "off-shelve" AI tool that will change how AEC professionals learn/consume building codes and standards. An example of how we can innovate technology and build a "moat" around it. I'm eagerly looking forward to beta testing it and seeing firsthand how it revolutionises our approach to building codes! #AIInnovation #AECTech #DigitalTransformation #4c4545
