I’m thrilled to announce the release of QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey’s latest report ‘The state of AI in early 2024: Gen AI adoption spikes and starts to generate value’! This year’s report, which I co-authored with Michael Chui, Alexander Sukharevsky, Lareina Yee, and Bryce Hall, found that: ▪ Three-quarters of respondents predict that gen AI will cause significant or disruptive change to their industries in the years ahead. ▪ 65% of respondents say their organizations are using gen AI in at least one business function, nearly double what our previous survey showed 10 months ago. ▪ 67% of surveyed leaders expect to increase their investment in AI, signaling a strong commitment to this technology as a driver of future growth. Thanks for sharing these - I’m curious as to how many of these organizations have augmented or moved away to gen AI in core business workflows and critical business functions VS how many are doing POCs?

2moDear Alex: Congratulations on the excellent article from QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey! In addition to keeping us updated on the adoption of GenAI and the main areas of application of AI, I found the analysis of investments made by companies fascinating. The insights into challenges in capturing value, especially in relation to operating models and data governance, were extremely insightful. And the finding that the most successful organizations are taking a mixed approach, combining proprietary, off-the-shelf and open source models, really highlights the importance of flexibility and innovation. Great!
