Pinnacle EMS Leadership Conference Takeway. As a CEO, I often evaluate the cost vs. benefit of attending trade conferences. A few of my team members and I attended the Pinnacle EMS Leaders conference at Marco Island, Florida, this week. My immediate thought was that it sounded expensive. We decided to attend after reviewing the vendor's lists and educational offerings. A few observations: it’s a powerful distraction to look out a conference hall and see white sand beaches and people carrying umbrella drinks and to stay in a classroom. Despite the distractions, most of the sessions kept our team engaged, and we all felt invigorated to bring a few new ideas back to the operations. More importantly, attending conferences over the years and networking is where the magic happens, and Pinnacle was no exception to that. One interaction has the potential to increase our revenue by a million dollars. My advice to those responsible for making conference decisions is to set objectives for your teams attending and follow up with them on their takeaways.
