Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S)’s Post

Did you hear? Enhanced decoy launchers will be fitted to Royal Navy ships so they can respond to hostile threats more accurately at sea. In total, 38 trainable launchers will be fitted to 19 vessels as part of a £135 million contract, supporting 150 skilled roles. This highly modular and flexible system will deliver a step-change in decoy launcher technology compared to traditional fixed solutions, providing increased protection against missile and drone threats. New systems will play a vital role on board: ✅ Type 26 frigates ✅ Type 31 frigates ✅ Type 45 destroyers #FactFriday

Excellent news, fingers crossed the £135Million will be spent on the British Manufacturing supply chain from Cables to Steel and everything in between! 🇬🇧#ukmfg #madeinbritain

Now the RN just needs long range cruise missile capability on something other than 4 SSNs. Oh and maybe some time out of dry dock for HMS Daring.
