The 35th SERA (Session Europeenne des Responsables d’Armament) concluded last week at the Ecole Militaire in Paris. This course brings together senior armaments specialists from most European nations, Turkey as well EU and OCCAR. This year’s course had 84 participants. It is arranged in four one week periods, the first and last in France. This year the second week was in Austria and third in Sweden - these two weeks rotate between participating nations. This year we had five Finns participating in the course with three from the Defence Forces and MoD and two representing industry. So far some 100 Finns have the opportunity to participate on this course. The courses main topic focused on European resilience. The lectures and discussions of and around the subject were most interesting. It is obvious that all learned a great deal. I personally had a great opportunity to participate as a councillor (mentor) on the course and pilot one of the committees (Committee 1) which debated a subject throughout the course and presented a paper on it during the last week of the course. #SERA #IHEDN #Europe #Finland #resilience #defence #strongertogether
