I want you to be ready to take advantage of every single opportunity in front of you. So what does that mean when it comes to photography? Imagine you’ve been asked to be a guest on a podcast, a featured speaker at a high-profile event, or a guest writer for a prominent publication. Or perhaps you’re finally starting your brand new business, launching your online program, authoring a book, or revamping your website. When you step out onto a stage, whether it be in person, online, or in print, how are you going to make a lasting impact? Having a quality, current, and versatile image bank that you can pull from to communicate to your audience who you are, what you stand for, and how you provide value to others transforms you from just another face in the crowd to a leader. If you’ve been relying on the same old headshot for everything you do, I ask you to consider stepping into a new year with stand-out images that not only reflect the person you have worked so hard to become but also the person you want to be moving forward. Spring is just around the corner. Let’s help you grow. Pictured: luminous Jude Monteserrato

"Just start doing stuff. That's really one of my biggest [pieces of] advice for other people." -Mike Montague As a successful web designer, sought-after keynote speaker, & on-air radio personality, Mike often gets asked how to land a job in any of those fields. His answer is always the same: "You don't." That's because he knows dream jobs aren't just handed to you. They're earned piece by piece, first by identifying your passions & then starting at the bottom, in any related task, & doing whatever it takes to make the position your own. He's done it time and again since he was a kid delivering real estate flyers, and the result is a fascinating career that seamlessly blends passion, purpose, and a little bit of crazy experimentation, all while providing true one-of-a-kind value to every organization he serves. Oh, we can't forget fun! Mike's inner child is alive & well, & he calls on it every day to guide him. We could all use a touch of that. To learn more: 👉Download Mike's episode of the Anything but Typical Podcast. (link in 1st comment). 👉Find him on LinkedIn or at PlayfulHumans dot com. Working your dream job. It's every entrepreneur's goal. It's like Katherine Whitehorn said, "Find out what you like doing best and get someone to pay you for doing it." Are you making one-way door or two-way door decisions? I asked WHOOP founder Will Ahmed about the biggest difference between running a million dollar business, and a billion dollar business, and he had such an amazing piece of advice for anyone trying to manage a growing company. He said, you need to make sure you're making the one-way door decisions, and letting others make the two-way door decisions. Essentially, one-way door decisions are ones that are very very difficult to come back from. These might be related to business models, key product decisions or pricing. Two-way door decisions are ones that won't change the whole fabric of the company if you want to go back on them, and these are the decisions you need to delegate so you don't get 'stuck in the weeds' as a founder. What do you think of Will's advice? Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/emsmTSux

Helping experts become storytellers | Thought partner to craft speeches, IP, messaging | Podcast: How Stories Happen | Membership: CreatorKitchen.com
Thrilled to share the trailer for my new show just dropped! Storytelling is a craft, on this we can agree. But if that’s the case, why do we always learn it in the abstract? We get general advice and fun-sounding structures and memorable quotes. Don’t get me wrong, I love that stuff. But it’s still up to us to actually apply it all—and that’s made harder when what we see of storytelling from others is rarely the application of their process, posture, and practice, aka their craft. If it’s a craft, shouldn’t we learn from the actual crafting? How Stories Happen will focus exclusively on that piece of it. Each episode, an expert, entrepreneur, creator, or world-class communicator will dissect a signature story or draft piece by piece. We’ll hear how they found it, how they developed it, and how it might improve. Plus, they’ll share how it’s helping them grow their business and leave their legacy. There’s a difference between “learning story” and being a storyteller. We want the latter. As Ira Glass says, “Great stories happen to those who can tell them.” He isn’t saying stories only appear to folks who have mastered the craft. He’s saying … it’s a craft. You don’t experience stories. You experience life. Then you turn that into stories. We’re exploring the craft of business storytelling like never before. Hear the trailer, and follow the show anywhere you get podcasts. Episodes coming next month!

2moWatts & Dray is an extremely talented Hospitality Design firm. I've been blessed to witness their genius as they "work guest rooms" & carefully examine every detail, texture, feel, & aesthetic of fine hotel interior finishes & amenities. Seeing them do what they do 1st hand is an experience I'll never forget. I learn so much from these Rock Stars of the hospitality industry! I especially enjoy Vanessa Watts' mad scientist approach that leaves you, jaw dropped, awestruck when the final reveal is unveiled. #TrendMakers
