With the weather warming up again, it can be fun to change up your exercise routine. With the Fit2Be Cancer Free challenge starting soon, I have been ramping up to prepare! Running outside instead of on the treadmill or going on a scenic walk are a couple of ways I'm varying my routine. 1,000 push-ups… 3,100 to go. Can you sponsor me for half a day or a day? https://lnkd.in/epCDiEaE My target is a small one: £310 OR 10 quid a day. That’s 10p per push up. I’ll be back next year with a more challenging one for the Manchester Marathon, don’t worry. Just flexing my fundraising muscles (and the other ones too). Clearly life is so easy I feel I need to make it a little harder for myself. It’s not for a small, obscure cause, it’s an obvious one. For research funding. So we can keep trying to understand what Cancer is and how we can prevent it, manage it better, avoid it (though I’ve a feeling we’ve played god a bit too long for that now). We’ve most likely all already lost someone to this thing, I’m expecting it’ll be responsible for most of our losses to come, maybe even our own. There are many scourges to tackle and fight off. Cancer Research UK (CRUK) threw me a bone with this one and I went for it.

October is #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, and it is important for us to help by raising awareness about breast cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death among women. To support all those who have been affected by the disease, Florida Blue teams across the state will be participating in this year’s American Cancer Society walks, and we hope you’ll consider joining one in your local community. Florida Blue encourages women to check with their doctor, do regular self-exams, and get their age-appropriate screenings and #mammogram. Let’s all work together to support initiatives that promote education, research, and care for those affected by #breastcancer. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
