It's two years since we landed in the UK to start our rural life. Was that a good decision? Yes, undoubtedly, for the kids. They've embraced the choices (arts, outdoors, sports, etc.) and are flourishing. My wife is healthy, relaxed, and happy, which was the primary reason for our change of scene. We spend most of our 'free' time active/outdoors, growing, tending to, or building/fixing things. We are close to family and closer as a family and individually finding new tribes (🎭🎨⚽️🚜🥋🌳🪚). Business-wise, I'm enjoying working with (mainly Nordic) investors, mid-caps, non-profits, and SMEs on impactful projects (risk assessment, gap analysis, action plan, implementation). Yes, there have been knocks, losses, and challenges. And we battle a bureaucracy that surprises you when it's not venal (like wrestling with jelly, fish-entrail jelly deep-fried using old engine oil in a crust of 2-star hotel bedsheet dust).  But it could be (much) worse... Finally, I've mentored (formally and informally) over a dozen people in the last three years. The Different Stories of Connections series bring forth a myriad of ways of relating to the non-human world. 🌻 "Neurodivergent Stories: The Porosity of Different Worlds" suggests a collection of narratives focusing on the experiences of neurodivergent individuals, emphasising the fluid and permeable boundaries between various experiences and realities. Neurodivergent Stories: This part of the title indicates that the narratives will centre on the experiences of individuals who are neurodivergent, encompassing a range of neurological differences. It highlights the unique perspectives and lived experiences of these individuals. The Porosity of Different Worlds: This phrase suggests that the boundaries between different realms of experience (such as the neurodivergent world, the neurotypical world, and other facets of identity and existence) are not rigid but permeable. It implies a fluid exchange and interaction between these different aspects of life, allowing for a richer, more interconnected understanding of identity and experience. In today's post, we introduced Opale: a gender-fluid, bi-racial, neurodivergent individual and an aspiring market gardener. The aim of this project is to explore beyond the mainstream definition of 'nature' and what it means to be in relation with the rest of the natural world. Even within environmental discourses, there exists a homogenisation of narrative. The goal here is to spotlight a myriad of voices and embodied experiences, thereby inspiring each other instead of adhering to one universal way of seeing the world around us. Year 2023 is going to see the last sunrise🌞 and sunset 🌓today. As i Inspect and found many things: 1: Change 🕰:As being said change is only constant so the same applied in the growth/pace of IT world. This year we saw slow growth and lot of people got on bench/laid off due to this. 2: Gen AI 💻: The world saw the potential of Gen AI across sectors. Now the adaptation will see how it changes our lives. 3: Skill📚: Without skill we are zero. Adding new skill is need of hour. There are lot of information is available across the platforms to grab. 4: Networking 🔃: Networking is utmost important in today’s era. Just like spending time with our friends one need to have habbit to spend some time with professional network to adapt the best and give back what one can to community. I am thankful ✍️ to 2023 for giving great opportunities to meet, work, interact with amazing people across. Looking forward 2024🤝

Will your organization be the Kodak or the Disney+ of tomorrow? 👩🎓 I was chatting with Bryan Contreras from Matriculate this morning about the disruptive impact that AI will undoubtedly have on the non-profit sector and specifically, the work of college advising and admissions. 🤓 Working for Megawatt (an amazing B2B tech content marketing agency) over the last year has given me an appreciation and inside look at the power of technology and AI. While many companies in the private sector are actively preparing and piloting tools for this transformation, I have not seen the same urgency or investment in the non-profit sector. But, it's not if, it's when. 📸 I remember reading the Kodak case in business school. A company, that for decades led the world in film & photography production yet missed the window and runway to shift their brand, capabilities, and service offerings to thrive in what would become the digital photography revolution. 🖥 On the flip side, The Walt Disney Company took a different approach in 2019 when they joined the streaming party and launched Disney+. Gone are the days of the coveted thick, expensive, and apocalyptic-packaged Disney VHS tapes. Instead, today my 3 year old has access to every Disney movie ever made for $7.99 a month. Disney evolved. Kodak missed the boat (and so did AOL but that is for another LinkedIn post 😂 .) Five years from now (or even sooner), your stakeholders/clients/partners WILL expect higher quality, more efficiency and less expensive price tags for the same outcomes–and with great AI products flooding the market daily, they should. 🤔 If you are a non-profit leader, add this topic to your 2024 retreat.
