Google Miami (Google for LatAm) invited me up at UM! This is a consortium of JAMAICAN school teachers meeting at University of Miami! I told them all about JAMCODERS of course and I helped sign the teachers in to Chromebooks for an AI-for-student-pedagogy workshop! Kind of a trend, seeing novice programmers learn a new language without understanding the fundamentals of computational thinking and solution design. Moreover, there is (still) a large pool of non-technical workers who are not in touch with the arts of problem solving and modern AI, as well as the benefits they can bring to their daily life and workflow. I am currently in the process of designing a number of online on-demand courses on computational skills, algorithmic thinking and AI/ML for novice programmers and non-programmers. The first one of them is (hopefully) expected to land by May 2024. Super hyped, super scared 😅 #algorithmicthinking #computationalthinking #inclusivetech
