The spirit of collaboration—among SMEs and across Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall—was truly evident. Strengthening ties among the Celtic Nations presents exciting opportunities for innovation, investment, and a thriving regional supply chain. A key highlight was Sarah Miller from Opergy Scotland, who shared valuable insights on 'Building a Sustainable Regional Industry to Support Floating Offshore Wind'. Her candid reflections on Scotland’s lessons learned—including both successes and challenges—offered essential takeaways for Cornwall’s journey. It was particularly exciting to welcome companies from outside the region looking to invest, share expertise, and bring services that will enable some of Cornwall’s most innovative businesses to manufacture locally. A dynamic ecosystem is taking shape—one that fosters knowledge exchange, product development, and advanced manufacturing. This growing collaboration won’t just support the Celtic Sea Offshore Wind Farms but can contribute to global offshore energy developments. Yesterday I presented the final results of the North Sea Basin Analysis at WindEnergy Hamburg! Main takeaways are: ✅ To be ready for the peak, development of ports must start NOW! ✅ Norway can alleviate pressure on the build out of offshore wind with a wide range of ports and significant offshore experience! ✅ Although Norway has a strong starting point with its good conditions for ports and highly experienced offshore industry, there are limitations to overcome in the form of limited space, often short quays, and competition with current activities! ✅ First, Norway can utilize quick wins in the south by supporting bottom fixed projects in the North Sea basin! DEME, through its joint venture CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), has been awarded a substantial contract from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners for the 500 MW Fengmiao 1 offshore wind farm in Taiwan. CDWE will handle the transport and installation of the jacket foundations, pin piles, and offshore substation. Deploying offshore installation vessel 'Green Jade', installation is set to begin in Q1 2026.
