For today's #worldwellbeingweek post, we're focusing on lunch breaks It doesn’t matter whether you are working on your feet dealing with patients, pupils or customers, driving around, behind a desk or anywhere else, an increasing number of people are skipping their lunch breaks. Why does this matter? Taking a good break in the middle of the day increases productivity, gives people a chance to move around and get fresh air, and encourages people to eat nutritious food. Studies have shown that being out in daylight for just 30 minutes improves that night’s sleep – which is a crucial part of anyone’s wellbeing. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗽 Check in with your team and make sure that they know you would like them to take a full lunch break.

My dining table is often my primary dumping ground. Things coming into my home often go there first. It’s the assembly point for things that I need to take upstairs and things I haven’t put away, and there’s usually a shopping list and glove / hat / bag combo on there too. It can very easily become not a nice space to sit and eat at. Earlier this week I talked about self-care in a training session and when we were discussing what recharges us, I mentioned the act of emptying my dining table. Pretty sure some people thought that was pretty random. But acts of self-care can be. Having a clean, calm space to eat in is something that I know makes me feel better. So tidying my table is definitely up there in my self-care activities. What random things do you do to care for yourself? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi, I’m Avril - life coach and self-care champion, ready to guide you from burnout to resilience using self-care. Ever heard the saying, "The way you do one thing is the way you do everything"? Yesterday, I had a great discussion with the team at Jackson Walker LLP about the fundamentals of clean eating for busy professionals. Working at a law firm requires peak performance and resilience, and adopting a clean eating lifestyle can be a powerful tool in achieving that. When you prioritize clean eating, you start to feel amazing, which paves the way for seamless improvement in your career, and self-care activities like exercise, sleep, and meditation, fostering a fulfilling and healthy life. #corporatewellness #healthandwellness

A cute little post I made for the work Instagram last month which received good engagement. 🍵🧦 I have recently developed an appreciation for flavoured tea, not only is drinking tea a cosy sensory experience but also a mindful ritual that contributes to my overall wellbeing. I work for a wellbeing company so this ties in really well and stays on-brand. 🤗 #wellbeing #contentmarketing #contentcreation #selfhelp #selfcare #graphicdesign

Getting sober in the restaurant industry can be a unique challenge, but it's certainly possible. Here are a few strategies that some individuals have found helpful: 1. Seeking support: Find a support network that understands the challenges of the industry. This may include attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or similar support groups specifically for individuals in the food and beverage industry. 2. Creating a sober environment: Surround yourself with supportive colleagues or friends who respect your decision to be sober. Avoiding environments where alcohol is prevalent can also be beneficial. 3. Developing healthy coping mechanisms: Find alternative ways to cope with stress and pressure. This could involve practicing mindfulness, engaging in physical activity, pursuing hobbies, or seeking therapy to address underlying mental health issues. 4. Communicating openly: Share your journey with trusted coworkers, supervisors, or employers. By opening up about your sobriety, you can create a supportive work environment and potentially find accommodations that foster your well-being. 5. Self-care and balance: Prioritize self-care practices, such as getting enough rest, maintaining a healthy diet, and engaging in activities that bring you joy. Establishing a work-life balance is crucial for your overall well-being. Remember, everyone's journey to sobriety is unique. It's important to identify what works best for you and to seek professional help if needed. Your determination and courage in facing and overcoming these challenges are truly inspiring.

Wellness Wednesday: Tips to be self-full -- It’s not selfish. Self-full Tip #45: Schedule grocery pick-up. I've mentioned it before, but I really believe that taking care of ourselves is all a balance of energy - what we take in, what we put out, and how we use what we have. As an introvert something as simple as the grocery store can be super exhausting after a long week at work. It's just so...people-y in there. Instead of navigating crowded aisles and losing the small amount of energy you may have left, take advantage of online ordering and pick-up. (Extra bonus if you can get it picked up by someone else in your household, or delivered). By minimizing the amount of energy expended on grocery trips, you free up some energy for activities that serve you and your mental well-being better. To read more about the self-full theory, and how it can make you a better leader and business owner, visit our blog here: https://lnkd.in/gX4B-7_t #selfcareisntselfish #healthyliving #wellness
