It's the little steps that matter Little steps towards achieving our goals Though today we may not be experts Tomorrow surely we will be Because we would have taken little steps with our goal in sight Soon, these steps will be enough to form a path for others to see and walk on Today, we will take another step towards our quest for the knowledge of #datascience and #machinelearning with Africa Agility Foundation strongly behind us. Dear learners, keep taking that little step! I'm sorry I've been away LinkedIn fam. I am back now P.S. How quickly time moves, It's day 16 already. #20DaysinDSMLWithAA #GIT20DayChallenge #Linkedin #girltech #Datascience

Day 15/20 #20DaysinDSMLWithAA Today we had one of the class sessions made possible by Africa Agility Foundation. We were supposed to execute the decision tree algorithm and move as far as hyperparameter tuning, which we did. But I was exhausted and didn't get much but I managed to find out that; Hyperparameter tuning refers to the process of finding the optimal values for these hyperparameters. By adjusting these values, you can fine-tune your work to achieve the best possible performance on your dataset. This can involve balancing factors like complexity, accuracy and preventing overfitting. I know I could have done better but somehow I lost it on the way. I must have been too tired and hungry. But at least I didn't walk out empty handed. Let's meet on Monday, I Will have made some progress. I am exhausted and I'm sure you are too. But hang in there, they say hard work pays 😊 Thank you for coming this far with me🫂. You are my source of inspiration🔥 #GirlsinTech #GIT20DayChallenge #GITBootcampCohort7 #africaagility #WomeninTech #Girlpower

Day 11 of #SAILs30daysChallenge Are challenges evitable? Almost everyday, we are faced with expected and unexpected challenges. One major challenge I faced this week was the feeling of being overwhelmed by the number of things to learn. There would always be a lot to learn, however, one thing I have learnt is that learning is a journey and it's alright to take it one step at a time. PS: What challenge did you face this week? How did you go about it? Kindly share in the comments 👇🏻 #Day11 #SAILs30daysChallenge #datascience #womenintech #womenindata

Day 10 of #20DayChallengeDSMLwithAA 🚀 It's been an incredible learning journey so far! I've been particularly captivated by the engaging practice labs, thought-provoking assignments, and the excitement of collaborating with my peers on a group project focused on ML models. As I dive deeper into these hands-on experiences, the theoretical concepts that once seemed abstract are now coming to life right before my eyes. With each passing practice session, the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, and I find myself utterly immersed in the joy of discovery. 🧩✨ However, I must admit that the weight of this learning challenge is not lost on me. After several weeks of intense exploration into the realms of Data Science and Machine Learning, I find myself grappling with a sense of being overwhelmed. It's moments like these that remind me of the importance of taking breaks, catching my breath, and then pushing forward with renewed determination. 🌿💪 I am incredibly grateful to Africa Agility Foundation for presenting me with this transformative opportunity. This journey has been a long-standing aspiration of mine, and now, thanks to their support, I am finally embarking on it with unwavering enthusiasm. 🙏 I push on, we push on! Until the next one, cheers! 🙂😊 #DataScienceJourney #MachineLearningMastery #GratefulLearner #GIT20DayChallenge

Hacklytics 2024 is finally here! Nearly a year of planning has gone into making Hacklytics 2024 the biggest and best data science hackathon Data Science @ GT has ever put together. In 2022, we had 50 people show up and barely $5,000 to fund the entire event. This year we have over 1100 attendees, $90,000 in just prizes and 25+ sponsors. 🎉 🎉 I won't lie - it's been grueling. But I wouldn't have it any other way. As Director of External Affairs, I've had the chance to quadruple my professional network, learn some amazing things about the Tech world and spoken with hundreds of people, many of whom I'm glad to call my friends now. I really have the rest of our Hacklytics team to thank - Krishi Manek, Emma Lawton, Archishma Goli, Vicente Miranda, Aryan Verma, Smera Bhatia, Pennon Shue. And a very special shoutout to our faculty advisor Jacob Abernethy who has helped us with funding, logistics, administration and everything in between - he's taken calls with us while waiting in airport lines, at 11pm in the night and has genuinely been invaluable throughout. But let's not get too sentimental just yet. There's 1 day to go and it's showdown time. We're all locked and loaded for Hacklytics 2024 - are you? #Hacklytics2024 #computerscience #datascience
