It was great to participate in a panel discussion at the Digital Identity Week conference on the topic of “Strategies for safeguarding identities against evolving cybersecurity threats”. Key call-outs: 1. Use of MFA, not only on the boundary but also in all layers of interaction, with a risk based authentication mechanism to reduce MFA fatigue and to protect against lateral movement. 2. Importance of understanding the principles of data protection, informed consent, secure collection, storage, appropriate use and disclosure, and proper disposal. 3. Protecting non human identities as they are often less protected and can have privileged access. 4.
