🔥 🛥️ This is how you burn your boats. Literally. This fuel tank of a boat was tested at Ignis Fire Testing. Aren’t you glad that ship sailed without you? If you don’t want to be in the same boat (last boat pun, we promise), you must ensure the petrochemical-related products you use, manufacture, or distribute are tested and certified for fire safety. We do this at Ignis Fire Testing – even if our reports rock the boat. (Really done now, sorry.) #IgnisFireTesting #FireTesting #FireSafety #PetrochemicalFireSafety

#PART1 Updates for Fire Certificate Applications in Malaysia As of October 14, 2024, BOMBA Malaysia has introduced the new ePREMIS system, which replaces the previous BLESS platform. This system is now the required channel for submitting all documents related to Fire Certificate applications. The transition is intended to streamline the process, but like any new system, it may take some time to get familiar with. Let’s work together to adapt to this change and ensure continued compliance with fire safety requirements. #FireSafety #BOMBA #EPremis #Compliance #FireCertificate #Malaysia

Testing of Fire Fighting System for Offshore Support Vessel (OSV), simply called FIFI trial is part of a sea trial that assesses the effectiveness of the OSV's firefighting capabilities. It ensures the system functions properly and the crew can operate it efficiently in a simulated emergency situation. Criteria that will be look into during the FIFI Trial; System Functionality: Testing the pumps, monitors, and piping of the FIFI system to ensure they deliver the required water flow and pressure. Crew Proficiency: Evaluating the crew's ability to operate the FIFI system controls, deploy fire hoses, and use firefighting techniques. Communication: Assessing clear and coordinated communication between the FIFI team, bridge crew, and any other personnel involved in the trial. Deployment Speed: Measuring the time taken by the crew to mobilize and deploy the FIFI system in response to a simulated fire scenario. Throw Range and Coverage: Verifying the water streams from the fire monitors reach the designated distances and cover the intended areas effectively. Specific criteria and measurement methods would be outlined in the vessel's Safety Management System (SMS) and Fire-Fighting Procedure based on statutory, regulatory and classification requirement. #firefighting #sea #fifi #seatrial #osv #togetherwesucceed

ASDMA wishes to emphasise that there is no good reason to question specialist fire doors backed by supporting test evidence and third-party product and process certification based on BS 476 Part 22 fire resistance testing. That includes fire doors approved on that basis, which may be already supplied and in use. We are not aware of any analysis previously brought forward that causes a BS 476-22 successful fire resistance test to be questioned. #FireDoors #FireTesting #FireSafety #BuildingSafety #BS476 #ThirdPartyCertification

Week 2 of Code posts. Today Let's talk about Fire Department Access Roads. This varies depending on the codes adopted for the jurisdiction and the AHJ's involved. The International Fire Code requires access roads to within 150 feet of all portions of the exterior walls of the first story. This can be adjusted by the fire code official under certain conditions. NFPA 1 - Fire Code has similar requirements but also states that a fire department access road must extend to not more than 50 feet of an exterior door that must be operable from the exterior and allows entrance to the facility. If you work in the UFC 3-600 arena this 50 foot requirement is reduced to 30 feet. It is important to know what codes are applicable to your project as multiple AHJ's may exist creating more stringent requirements.
