Today we are showcasing The Town of Columbus Walt Phillips Road Culvert. This project involved professional engineering services related to the replacement of a culvert. Delta conducted a wetlands delineation survey, a topographic survey, and design services that were based on NYSDOT guidelines and standards. The photo shown is the new finished culvert!

Geotechnical, Civil & Structural Engineer Recruiter | Building Engineering Teams Throughout North America.
Ever wonder why some sandcastles stand tall while others crumble? The secret lies in soil mechanics - a fascinating field that's crucial for building everything from beachfront homes in Florida to skyscrapers in New York City. Just like a sandcastle, real-world structures need the right balance of moisture, compaction, and grain size. Too dry, and your tower topples. Too wet, and it slumps into a sad puddle. In the real world, geotechnical experts use these same principles to tackle massive projects. They're the unsung heroes ensuring the stability of the Hoover Dam, the integrity of Boston's Big Dig tunnels, and the safety of San Francisco's earthquake-resistant buildings. Next time you're at the beach, remember: that humble sandcastle is teaching you about the very foundations of our cities and infrastructure. Who knew playing in the sand could be so... constructive? So, ready to look at the world of soil and structures with new eyes? Your backyard, local construction site, or nearest beach might just become your next classroom! #SoilMechanics #GeotechnicalEngineering #InfrastructureHeroes #UrbanFoundations #ScienceOfSand

DWG Rescues Penzance Harbour Lighthouse Pier! The iconic Penzance Harbour Lighthouse Pier was in trouble. Years of wear and tear, failing joints, and relentless tidal erosion had damaged the sub-base, jeopardising the pier's stability and impacting the vital Silly Isles ferry service. ⛴️ DWG rose to the challenge! We used GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) technology to pinpoint the exact location of voids beneath the pier structure. Our solution: a precise Geopolymer resin injection program. Through meticulous planning, we drilled into the identified voids and injected the resin at controlled temperatures and pressures. This filled the gaps, stabilized the structure, and all without disturbing the surrounding quayside walls or dislodging any granite blocks – crucial for the pier's continued use. ✅ DWG's expertise ensured the Penzance Harbour Lighthouse Pier is back in service, supporting the local ferry service for many years to come! 💡 Project Spotlight 💡 One of our specialties as a structural engineering firm is structural insulated panels (SIPs). SIPs were used for unmatched energy efficiency and strength against coastal elements for this particular beachfront property in Pass Christian, Mississippi. We designed the structure to withstand hurricane-force winds and create a fortified home. We partnered with Extreme Panel Technologies, Collaborative Design Group, inc. & and others on this! What questions do you have about SIPs?
