JESUS SAYS “LEARN LEADERSHIP FROM CHILDREN!”
Rabbi Jesus once said, “Learn Leadership From Little Children.”
In Matthew chapter eight verse thirteen, Jesus called a child to His side and emphasized the importance of being teachable to succeed in life.
According to Eugene H. Peterson's The Message, Jesus stated that returning to square one and starting over like children is essential for those considering (or already) leading other people or organizations.
So, consider learning and embrace it.
As leaders, we can learn a lot from children.
They possess an inquisitive attitude towards life, always asking questions and exploring the world around them.
In fact, Jesus himself was always asking questions, using life coaching techniques to educate his followers.
Here are some leadership qualities we can derive from Rabbi Jesus' teachings:
- Great leaders are learners, possessing the same inquisitive attitude as little children.
- Children are always upbeat, on the go, and engaging, making every opportunity to learn a chance to grow.
- Children create learning moments, making the learning process fun and enjoyable.
- It takes a lot of effort to shut down a child's learning quest.
- Children are more than teachable; they make the learning process fun.
In the words of J.B. Phillips, "unless we change our outlook and become like little children entering into a new dimension, or any high ranks in life is impossible."
Therefore, to rank high in life, we must become simple and elemental again, like children.
Let us learn from the awe of life that exists in children and embrace our inquisitive attitude towards learning.
As leaders, we can grow and develop by adopting a child-like mindset, always asking questions and creating learning opportunities.
