What's behind the "two-tier policing" conspiracy theory. As a wrote about in my book - "Overruled: Confronting Our Vanishing Democracy In 8 Cases" authoritarians (like the far right and their "mainstream" outriders) favour "false victimhood" narratives. These frame equal treatment as discrimination (in this case, discrimination against whites/the far right). These weaponise the liberation discourses, relied on by campaigners for racial/sexual/(etc) equality, by framing the oppressor as the victim. The overwhelming evidence suggests that black and asian people are subjected to coercive force by the police at a much higher rate than white people. The "two-tier" conspiracy theory is thus a fascinating case study in how far-right discourses are picked up and legitimised by mainstream politicians, commentators, and the media.

🔥 Chaos in NYC! 🔥 In what was supposed to be a day of celebration, a Pro-Hamas mob turned a mall into a scene of red with smoke bombs. This isn't just a disturbance, it's a glaring display of radical extremism. Is this even legal? Why the inaction from law enforcement? 🚫 Is this what we call a peaceful protest? Where's the line between expressing views and instilling fear? ✊ Radical extremism has NO place in our society, especially not on days meant for celebration. We're witnessing more than just a protest. It's an alarming shift towards violence and intimidation. This isn't about free speech, it's about public safety. Enough is enough. We can't let fear and extremism dictate our lives. This isn't the New York that anyone expects to see. Are you as concerned as I am about where this is headed?

Racism in the workplace is a pervasive issue that undermines inclusivity and perpetuates inequality. It is unacceptable in any form. Discrimination based on race not only harms individuals but also erodes trust, stifles creativity, and hampers productivity. Organizations must prioritize creating diverse and inclusive environments where all employees feel valued and respected regardless of their race or ethnicity. Addressing racism requires proactive measures, including robust anti-discrimination policies, cultural sensitivity training, and promoting diverse representation at all levels of leadership. Together, we must stand against racism and work towards building workplaces that embrace diversity and foster equality for all.
Racism has no place in our society. We all have a role to play in the struggle against hate. As we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, let’s make a difference together. Say no to racism. Say #NoToHate. Discover more: https://lnkd.in/gPmupVwx #FightRacism

In a legislative meeting today, I discussed how woefully inadequate our state support systems are for victims of hate. This is a game changing piece of legislation that will immediately make an impact in people's lives. It's how we envision #TheFutureOfFightingHate. Learn more about the legislation that the team has worked so hard to push over the last two years in this video featuring Miri Cypers and Fay Stetz-Waters!
Please take a moment to watch my story, and the story of fellow advocates, who are envisioning "The Future of Fighting Hate" in this new short film we produced. As ADL Pacific Northwest continues to push for a Statewide Bias Helpline in Washington, we see a future in which fighting hate is not only about accountability in our laws but supporting those in greatest need with immediate support and resources. Take a watch and share your thoughts! To learn more about our anti-hate agenda in Washington State, visit fighthatewa.org. Thank you Judy Shepard, Rais Bhuiyan and Fay Stetz-Waters for your voices and activism. Thank you 6162 Productions for your masterful work. #TheFutureOfFightingHate
