ICYMI: Planning for resilience requires funders to listen to the people who understand the early signs of potentially disruptive events. Most threats are noticed first by those at the local level, and this is also where solutions develop. As grantmakers, we must look to local organizers and community-based solutions to understand what is most needed — and most effective. Then, we can support what works. https://lnkd.in/eC-5Ubdp

In these challenging times, it’s crucial to remember the importance of supporting our federal government. Consider the ongoing efforts to address pressing issues like public health and national security. The CDC’s work during the pandemic and the Department of Homeland Security’s initiatives to protect our communities highlight the vital role our government plays in safeguarding our well-being. When we face civil upheaval, it’s easy to focus on the divisions. However, let’s not forget that our government, with all its complexities, strives to serve us. Engaging in constructive dialogue and supporting the institutions that uphold our rights are essential to moving forward together. By doing so, we reinforce the foundations of our democracy and ensure that it remains resilient in the face of adversity. Let us stand united in support of our federal government, for it is through our collective commitment that we can navigate these turbulent waters and emerge stronger.

📢Big news: We’ve just been featured in the most recent edition of the JUSTICE TRENDS Magazine, with first-hand accounts of project partners and first-line practitioners from the R2COM Network! In this insightful piece, and through the words of professionals in the fields of post-release support and radicalisation prevention, we discovered how the project helped to: ➡Build awareness to the phenomena of radicalisation and extremism in post-release settings, and the paramount role to be played by civil society ➡Discover and implement evidence-based and innovative methods and techniques towards sustained integration, mitigating vulnerabilities, and building strengths ➡Share experiences, practices, and knowledge, uncovering similar challenges and co-joint solutions/information sharing In the words, of our project partner Robert Orel: “R2COM is a timely and needed project equipping CSO actors across Europe to engage in the post-release reintegration of VEOs. Through developing the TV-RAT tool, aimed for CSO practitioners to assess the needs of VEO clients, and strengthening CSO professionals through a thorough 3-module training, practitioners are trained and equipped in how to understand and respond to involvement in violent extremism” 🔎Local Action, Big Impact, this is the R2COM project commitment, as we continue our efforts to create empowered professionals and safer communities! A special thanks to all the contributors🤲 Please read more here: https://lnkd.in/eEmjf6HF

Did you know that funding for gender-based violence prevention often pales in comparison to resources allocated to other areas? While we recognize the importance of investment across various sectors, it's crucial to address the stark disparity in funding for GBV prevention. We're not advocating for less support in other areas, but rather calling for more equitable and robust funding to tackle GBV at its roots. Together, let's prioritize resources for a safer, more inclusive future. Learn more here: https://buff.ly/3vrUBdS
