🌟 Transforming Nonprofits: MacKenzie Scott’s Unforeseen Impact 🌟 In recent months, I’ve engaged with several nonprofits that report an extraordinary surge in their budgets—an unexpected anomaly in a year that defies convention. The common thread? #MacKenzieScott 's unanticipated philanthropic contributions. These contributions were so substantial that they eclipsed previous giving and are likely to shape future giving as well. An excellent analysis provided by #PanoramaGlobal 's “Analyzing MacKenzie Scott’s Yield Giving Open Call” provides some key insights. ⬆ Unexpectedly Generous Awards: While initial expectations pointed to 250 nonprofits being eligible for $1 million, a fortunate 279 organizations received a remarkable $2 million each. Scott’s generosity exceeded all projections, benefiting a diverse range of community-driven initiatives. ⚖ Focus on Equity & Democracy: Nearly three-quarters of the grantees demonstrated a clear commitment to Equity and Justice, with a strong emphasis on racial equity. Additionally, funding for democracy programs saw a notable increase compared to previous rounds. 🎁 Impactful Grants for Smaller Organizations: Scott’s gifts of $2 million have had an outsized impact on smaller nonprofits with budgets ranging from $1 million to $5 million. These organizations constitute only 5% of all nonprofits in the US, making a $1-$2 million gift truly transformational. #Philanthropy #SocialImpact #Changemakers https://lnkd.in/efTzGa86

Highlights from our #2024PractitionersGathering. Discussion today focused on the importance of transparency and the shrinking public trust in government, media, and non-profits. The Practitioner Institute started with a presentation from Kevval Hanna of the Edelman Trust Institute on their Trust Barometer (https://lnkd.in/eC7hstpx). We were joined by Stacey Abrams and by Denis Moynihan co-founder of Democracy Now! Amy Domini a pioneer of #EthicalInvesting, reminded us: “knowledge leads to social change, and that’s the foundation on which this field needs to grow.” As a network of values aligned investors, it was a call to action to do more to build a vibrant civil society and healthy democracy.

Given recent events, the impact of expanding disclosure requirements, potentially on Form 990 for private foundations, could be helpful as donors seek data points to measure the effectivenes of 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit Organizations. Also, Private Foundations navigating important causes in volatile regions can equally benefit from financial transparency and KPI metrics to help verify that NGO's are following appropriate international rules. #FinancialTransparency #PrivateFoundations #Form990 #KPIs The Rockefeller Brothers Fund contribution to Social Justice Whitewashing: https://lnkd.in/eBKCAmXE How expanding Form 990 IRS disclosures can reduce antisemitism on college campuses: https://lnkd.in/eWJWebAV

According to the 2024 Trends Report (by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism & Nic Newman) "Subscriptions/memberships" are the most important revenue stream for digital publishers. This may not reflect Central European realities yet, but things are heading in this direction. The report also shows the increasing importance of philanthropic funds (grants), here CE is probably ahead of the global curve. You can read more about these topics and browse through 9 million euros worth of active grant calls for CE publishers here ---> https://lnkd.in/dwztaPad

A non-government or nonprofit organization should stand on its feet. The non profit organization is an entity that has its own frame. It is set up to be resilience in dynamic and uncertain world. It prepares the necessity of becoming an organization that can hold to crisis, political intervention, economy downfall, etc. WIGTA is established by its woman leader and founder who in charge of its own destiny and objectives. The founder has made a wise selection to strategize for future impacts and navigate through them which involve own cost, financial, risk factors such the administrative cost like the volunteers allowance, utilities, rental, etc. WIGTA avoids having political intervention, that is predicted to create misconception and misinformation that appears during the activities. WIGTA develop own policies, rules and regulations that are clearly made. These policies thus are accepted and understandable by our members, partners and stakeholders.
