The Arrangement for Cooperation (https://shorturl.at/oV7NR) recognizes the outstanding efforts of the European Olympic Committees - EOC and European Olympic Committees EU Office - EOC EU Office in leading EU-funded projects on topical areas to concretely implement key EU policies and recommendations. It should be acknowledged that the Erasmus Plus Programme plays a key role in providing organised sports with the required financial means to implement the set objectives of the Arrangement for Cooperation, and to: ➡ enhance physical activity through campaigns like #BeActive and HealthyLifestyle4All. ➡ promote sustainability, human rights, athletes' well-being, integrity and gender equality in sports ➡ encourage volunteering and skills and competencies development through sport ➡ ensuring the principles of safe sports, fairness, inclusiveness, respect and unity in sport ➡ enhance access to sports for youth and disadvantaged groups, including persons with disabilities. ➡ promote positive and lasting legacies from sports events and EU and Olympic values beyond the EU. Thus, the Erasmus Plus Programme is a key ally in promoting European Union and Olympic values within and beyond the borders of the European Union as it provides important resources to implement cross-border initiatives leading to concrete, sustainable and transferable outputs, and lasting legacies 🎉

Yesterday I was chatting to a friend about #TheDreamGap and why it’s so important Because 10 years ago I remember reading that achieving #GenderEquality in the global job market could skyrocket global GDP by a whopping $12 trillion annually by 2025! That’s like the economies of 🇯🇵 Japan, 🇬🇧 UK and 🇩🇪 Germany combined. That’s the economic power of full female participation. In fact it’s probably a lot more than that now! ✨ Enter The #Barbie Dream Gap Project. Launched in 2018 for Barbie’s 60th birthday bash, this global initiative is on a mission to shatter gender stereotypes and fight the biases shaping our girls' futures. Why? Because every girl deserves to dream without limits! 🌟 Flash forward to July 2023: Celebrating the premiere of the #BarbieMovie, the project teamed up with Save the Children International to harness the power of dreams in battling global poverty. Since its start, the Dream Gap Project has donated over $2 million to organizations like Girls Write Now and She's the First focusing on #mentoring, skills development, and #LeadershipDevelopment 💪 These funds are helping to equip and empower girls and young women, preparing them for the workforce with the belief that they can be anything – just like Barbie. Closing the dream gap isn’t a dream anymore – it’s becoming a reality. Here’s how you can help close #TheDreamGap: 1. Educate yourself and others about gender disparities. 2. Support organisations aimed at empowering girls. 3. Mentor young girls in your community. 4. Challenge and speak out against gender stereotypes. 5. Buy from female entrepreneurs and artists. 6. Advocate for gender equality policies. 7. Be a role model for ambition and resilience. Together, we can make a difference. Let's talk about the #dreamgap....girls believe they can be anything, but does the world? 📍By age 5 girls stop believing they can be scientists, astronauts, engineers, big thinkers, CEOs ..the list goes on. 📍By age 7 girls are more likely to think boys are smarter than them and less likely to be given a science related toy. 📍Parents are twice as likely to search "is my son gifted" than "is my daughter gifted" The #DreamGap for young girls still exists, but new research shows the challenges don’t lie in girls lacking self-confidence or drive — the gaps often occur in the world around them. Even though progress has been made toward gender equality, stereotypes and societal biases still exist that can affect a girl’s trajectory and future choices. The #BarbieDreamGap Project is a global mission dedicated to closing the gap by challenging gender stereotypes and helping undo the biases that hold girls back from reaching their full potential. 🌟Since 1959 Barbie has worked to create a world where girls see unlimited possibilities. 🌟Since 2019, Barbie has donated $250,000 every year to non-profit partners that work directly with girls and enable them to reach their full potential. The Dream Gap Project by Barbie is an empowering initiative aiming to provide girls with the support and resources they need to believe that they can be anything, that they are equal. On the back of this months International Women's Day events and the clear findings that have been outlined around the pay gap and superannuation gap that are still so apparent in today's society. The recent news highlighting the lack of accessibility in the Paris transport system, especially the Metro, in the lead-up to the Paralympics is so concerning. It really is disheartening to see that despite the city’s promises of improved infrastructure for the Games, many athletes and visitors with disabilities will face challenges navigating the city. The fact that only one of the 16 Metro lines is fully wheelchair-accessible is a stark reminder of the broader issues of inclusivity and accessibility that still need to be addressed in our societies. It’s a collective responsibility to advocate for and implement changes that make our cities more inclusive.
