As a direct result of racialized policies, like restrictive covenants, redlining and blockbusting, today’s Black and minority families are less likely to have the kind of generational wealth that can unlock homeownership. We know that the only way Black and minority communities can “catch up” on homeownership is if we are intentional about rectifying the history that got us here. Last week, CONVERGENCE Columbus launched the Maude Hill Growing Homeownership fund as a direct response to this research. Listen in to our latest episode to see what else this local coalition has accomplished to help close Central Ohio’s distinctive homeownership gaps.

Hurricanes like Helene happen naturally, but was this the case here? Apparently Asheville is a lithium and precious minerals resource with HUGE resources yet to be mined. And now we are seeing blocked access to Asheville from citizens to bring in aide, while offers to buy properties for cash are apparently also being solicited there. And FEMA is out of money and apparently is telling citizens you will be arrested if you come try to help! If you ask me, the coincidences are too many. Even if the hurricane was natural and not impacted or produced by weather modification tech, how is everything else explained or rationalized?

The parade starts in about 90 minutes though the Super Bowl celebration has already begun in Kansas City! How do you celebrate your team??? Don't need to do a parade LOL, though celebrating big deadlines or navigating the unexpected or birthdays or work anniversaries --- it matters. We ambitious humans skip over the celebrations and move on to the next thing to tackle. Invest some time to acknowledge all the great things your team is doing. They will notice that you appreciated them, whether they say anything or not. Why? When you create the celebration experience from genuine appreciation, they will feel YOUR loyalty and engagement, which deepens their own. Notice I said FEEL? Telling them a list of great stuff only entices their intellect. Yes do the list. And then deliver the message with genuine EMOTION so that they can FEEL your appreciation and not just hear list of facts. We humans need to feel appreciated, even in professional relationships.
