2/2 1) Working from home is not the only remote work: People still talk about remote work as a "work-from-home" trend when n reality working from anywhere else also counts. Staffing agencies are proof of this. 😮 2) Have a backup for the backup of your internet service: So many times work can be slowed down because of technical problems, and sometimes having one backup is not enough, so having two instead of one is a real lifesaver that you'll eventually need. 📈 3) Onboarding speeds productivity up X10: A good onboarding for a remote team member gets up to speed with everything they need to know and start producing from day one, this is why you need a very carefully detailed and focused onboarding system. It will make things work a lot faster when you get new people on the team. 💪 Hopefully, you can learn from these rookie mistakes and apply these strategies before they become a problem. Interesting data here.. Having worked 100% Remote, partial remote and/or 100% on-Prem over the last 30 years, I can see how this can happen. My optimal has always been partial remote, because I see incredible value with interacting with teams, management and subordinates face to face. But it definitely has to be nurtured and done purposefully. It doesn’t make any sense to go into an office, sit in a cubicle or office and not have interaction with people throughout the day. That defeats the purpose entirely. I’d have to say that the relationships that I have forged by face-to-face meetings and what you learn by someone just stopping by to brainstorm or ‘let me run this by you’ or ‘can I get your thoughts on this idea’ are invaluable. As well as there are times when you just need to have the solitude and freedom from interruptions that remote work affords. I value both. https://lnkd.in/gUp59SQW
