A recent report from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) provides valuable insights into the state of open PTO adoption among private-sector employers. Despite the buzz surrounding open PTO, the majority of respondents in the survey did not offer this benefit. Among those that did, most had introduced it several years ago. While open PTO continues to garner attention, particularly in the private sector, interest may be waning. The survey revealed that among organizations offering unlimited PTO, nearly 87% transitioned to the open PTO model within the last four years, with the majority adopting it three years ago. One of the key questions surrounding open PTO is how to ensure employees take enough time off. While vacations can contribute to employee engagement and retention, some workers may take less time off when there's no traditional leave bank to draw from. Addressing hurdles such as workload and "sick shaming" requires proactive efforts from HR professionals to foster a supportive culture and provide training to mitigate these challenges. At Rally Partners, we understand the importance of staying informed about emerging trends in employee benefits and HR practices. As organizations navigate the complexities of implementing open PTO and optimizing their paid leave systems, we're here to provide expert guidance and tailored solutions to support their evolving needs. Ready to explore how open PTO can enhance your organization's employee experience and drive success? Yikes...this recent survey shows that: ➡ Nearly 40% of employees in the U.S. didn't use all of their allotted PTO last year (and 55% of those workers had to forfeit their unused days). ➡ 78% of respondents feel guilty about taking PTO due to concerns about adding to colleagues' workloads or falling behind in their work. ➡ More than 1 in 4 employees report hesitating to take PTO due to job security fears. If these stats sound familiar, get to planning your 2024 PTO to make sure you use it up!

A successful unlimited PTO policy requires a culture that values time off and encourages employees to use it. Clearly explain the policy and ensure employees understand how to request and utilize their PTO. It's also a good idea to focus on outcomes. Shift the focus from tracking days off to achieving results. Encourage employees to take the time they need to be productive and engaged. #EmployeeBenefits #PTO #WorkLifeBalance https://lnkd.in/gRvikwy3
