There is no doubt that complex factors contribute to experiences of neglect and abuse in families. Many of the families, children and young people OzChild work with live with multiple risk factors and challenges, including substance abuse, unemployment and poverty, poor mental health, family or domestic violence, disability, housing vulnerability, contact with the justice system, or their own family history of generational trauma. Families with multiple complex needs are the largest population known to child protection. OzChild's Multisystemic Therapy Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) program is improving outcomes for families who have experienced involvement with child protection services. The program successfully keeps kids safely with family, improves parenting capabilities and develops social and community networks to support a healthier family environment. #sundayfunday There are times in the barn when we are forced to allow the survivor to be accompanied by someone with them. It doesn't happen often, and we remedy it with permission and tact. It changes the dynamic of trauma work incredibly - often sacrificing the focus on the victim/survivor as the horse is reading the energy and vibe from the environment and all in attendance. If this happens in the barn, it also happens in meetings, therapy, and support for victims. Professionals need to create a safe person-centric space when engaging survivors in support and care. This creates a singular focus on the survivors and their self-direction to ensure they are not overwhelmed with wrap-around ideologies. Campaigners have listed areas where the government’s forthcoming National Kinship Care strategy needs to improve the lives of kinship care families, where family and friends look after children who can’t stay at home. Three trailblazer councils to pilot MacAlister's ‘families first’ plan. Disparity between the discharge of care orders in England and Wales. It is estimated that 180,000 children, who would otherwise by in foster or residential homes, are being raised by kinship carers, according to Family Rights Group (FRG), which has made the recommendations to ministers. For all the father's who have been separated and alienated from their kids, #happyfathersday2024 to you as well. We all love our kids and would do anything for them. Unfortunately, #FamilyCourts often have atypical, judicial leeway to make powerful and pervasive decisions for our children and the parents, with almost #ZeroOversight, #Regulations, and #accountability. It's a #bigbusiness, and as parents who especially haven't had the displeasure of going through the process, we need your #solidarity and for your to learn about it, especially in courts like #MonmouthCounty, which is known nationally, as one of the worst or the worst counties for father's to relieve Fair #custody and #childsupport rulings. Better communities begin with #Awareness and progress with #resilience and #activism. We must have a just system that does not punitively hammer the #WorkingClass and impoverish good #Mothers and Fathers from raising their children and being a part of their lives. They must not be kept away to perpetually enrich the #FamilyCourtIndustrialComplex from corrupt state agencies and #lawyers, and well beyond. The courts getting #3to1Funding for #ChildSupportOrders breeds corruption and abuse of #WorkingFamilies! #FathersOfTheWorldUnite!
