This week, we went to James Warren's house to celebrate the second anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act! James is a community advocate and staff member in our office. Since its passing, the Inflation Reduction Act has reshaped American energy infrastructure and cut energy bills across cities. It provides support to many, from providing funding for clean energy projects to giving tax breaks to electric vehicle owners. Our office is helping to deliver the sustainable future and economic prosperity Denver deserves. Federal support is a key part of making that happen. Denver is already moving toward this goal by offering rebates on heat pumps at the point of sale. In 2024, homeowners installed over 500 heat pumps with the help of our rebates. Denverites can stack these rebates with federal tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act. Learn more and make a plan to get your rebates and tax credits at: https://lnkd.in/gyx84urw

Last night, I tuned into a session led by Frank Rolfe discussing the potential implications of the upcoming election as it pertains to Mobile Home Parks. He provided an in-depth breakdown of each candidate's plans if they were elected. Here are some of the key takeaways: If Kamala Harris wins: - Gas prices & inflation are expected to rise even further - Stagflation is virtually guaranteed - Oil & gas markets could be crushed - Increased crime in urban areas (benefiting rural & super commuter areas) - Tax breaks may be eliminated - Greater risk of a global crisis If Donald Trump wins: - Increased investment in rural & super commuter areas - Lower energy costs - "Drill, baby, drill" policy would boost TX, LA, OK, ND, and other oil markets - Capital gains tax is safe - Renewal of tax benefits - Reduction in government workforce - End of DEI and the "free rent" movement I’d be curious to know what other park owners are most concerned with regarding this election. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

📢 Call to action: tell your Representative to support the Main Street Historical Tourism and Revitalization Act! The National Trust for Historic Preservation just sent out an announcement in support of SB 1166 and HB 1183, the bills that, if passed, would introduce a state historic tax credit in Florida. "After nearly four decades of policy development, state legislatures — including Texas — have found that these incentives bring tangible, lasting benefits to their residents as well as older neighborhoods and communities [...]," states the National Trust. "These incentives create high-wage local jobs during the construction phase and the resulting new spaces often serve as incubators for fledgling Main Street business." 👉Reach out to your legislators now: https://ow.ly/BMEG50QyV3i 👉 Learn more about the historic tax credit: https://ow.ly/sE2M50QyV3h

Limited available land in the Washoe Valley.
"People just don’t understand how big Nevada is and how much of our land is federally-owned." - Ed Lawson, Mayor of Sparks, says that while the Sparks lands bill seems like a “tremendous amount of acreage,” it actually represents “0.001% of all the federal land in Nevada.” He explains Sparks is out of land and they’ll need to “grow up,” noting that he doesn’t want to be like San Francisco but it looks like they’ll have to be if they don’t get the property tax change or the lands bill passed. https://lnkd.in/gFRUjPrY

In Seminole County, Florida, leaders face a critical juncture as voters must decide whether to renew a one-cent sales tax this November. The tax, which funds essential infrastructure improvements like roads, schools, and flood prevention, is crucial for maintaining the county's quality of life. If not renewed, officials warn of severe budget cuts and potential property tax hikes to cover the shortfall. Since its inception in 2015, the tax has generated substantial revenue, benefiting various public projects and services, underscoring its importance to the community's well-being. REALTOR® @Real - We specialize in selling homes in West Houston with over a decade of experience. Partnered with relocation companies like Cartus, Sirva, and Graebel to market your home to local and global buyers.
Houston dodged a tax hike, at least for now, thanks to a $50 million lifeline from the state. But before you start celebrating, let’s break down what’s really happening here. Mayor John Whitmire and several council members found themselves in a bit of a tug-of-war. On one side, Whitmire proposed keeping the current tax rate stable, while other council members pitched a small tax bump under Proposition A. The goal? To help cover the $52 million bill from this year’s storm damage. Their plan would’ve cost the average homeowner about $104 extra per year, but then, in a last-minute twist, the state stepped in with a $50 million offer to help with cleanup. Sounds like a win, right? Well, not so fast. The big question is: How much of that $50 million is Houston really getting? And will it be enough to patch the city’s $211 million storm damage hole? While the council members withdrew their tax proposal, some are still saying the tax increase was the right move to keep city finances on solid ground. What do you think?

Today, a critical tax abatement program expansion was proposed for stabilizing downtown’s property market. Is this a wonkish, acronym-filled #economicdevelopment program? Yes. But it’s also so much more. This is about maintaining weekly trash collection, from Homewood to Fairywood. This is about preserving timely emergency services, from Brighton Heights to Brookline. This is about enough snow plows, from the Hill District to Hazelwood. This is about tax base preservation, ALL City.
