New to exporting or looking to develop your knowledge even further? Department for Business and Trade #ExportChampion Mark Brooks explains how the #UKExportAcademy has an event for you....
I was flattered to be featured in a published advert last week for the British Government's Department for Business and Trade's highly popular UK #ExportAcademy programme. It gives me a good excuse to tell you about this important and successful initiative. The UK Export Academy can support your business to grow by giving business leaders the confidence and know-how to land your first, or next overseas contract and develop strategic partnerships. More than 18,000 businesses across the UK have already joined the government's training programme. It’s totally free and takes only a few minutes to get started. Whether you’re new to exporting or looking to develop your knowledge even further, there is an event for you. *Essentials - designed for those who are new to exporting, gives you the confidence to take your first steps... *Masterclasses - key topics delivered by industry experts, broaden your knowledge of international trade, new and exclusive sessions every month... *Sector & Market - join an event specific to your sector, explore opportunities across the globe, hear from in-market and sector experts... I have personally benefitted from these events, for example we attended an online event organised by the #DBT in #SouthAfrica a few years ago. And as a result we have run our second successful UK Boarding Schools Week annual exhibition in #Johannesburg and #CapeTown in April. These are in addition to our regular events in #Nigeria and #Ghana. Whatever your business sector take a look at the HM Government website to find out more... https://lnkd.in/e_qJ5ss6 ----- Mark Brooks Education is a #DBT #ExportChampion Janet Edwards, Karen Knight, Vas Sofokleous, Sarah Chidgey, Benjamin Onajide, Nankling Danfulani

In the latest Op-ed in The Australian, our CEO, Dr Peter Hendy, delves into the critical importance of Australia's international education sector. He highlights how the sector not only fuels our economy but also fosters cultural exchange and strengthens diplomatic ties. Here's a glimpse into his key points: 🔹 Economic Impact: Valued at $47.8 billion in 2023, international education stands as Australia's fourth largest export, supporting around 250,000 jobs across various sectors. 🔹 Cultural Exchange: Hosting a diverse cohort of international students enriches Australia's social fabric and bolsters our global reputation as an inclusive and welcoming nation. 🔹 Diplomatic Relations: The sector plays a crucial role in soft diplomacy, enhancing Australia's image and fostering stronger ties with students' home countries. 🔹 Policy Concerns: Current government policies that limit international student numbers threaten to undermine these benefits. A more supportive approach is needed to safeguard this invaluable asset. IHEA is committed to advocating for policies that support and grow this vital sector, ensuring Australia remains a top destination for international students. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead, the insights shared by Peter Hendy underscore the need for a robust and supportive framework for international education. Read the full Op-ed below and join the conversation to share your thoughts on how we can further enhance the role of international education in Australia’s future. #IHEA #HigherEducation #InternationalStudents #Australia

UK-Global: Quality agency wins grant to tackle UK TNE growth barriers The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has been awarded a roughly 20% share of a new British government fund designed to ‘unlock export opportunities’ worth billions of pounds for UK companies and organisations over the next five years, with major benefits for transnational education (#TNE). Nic Mitchell reports. The QAA will receive £470,000 (US$607,000) from the UK’s government's £2.3 million Regulatory Partnership for Growth Fund “to deliver a set of international interventions designed to address barriers to UK higher education” in key international markets. The announcement was made at the start of a visit by the new #Labour government’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds MP to Brazil during which he will attend his first #G20 trade talks summit. Sectors like #cleanenergy and #lifesciences are set to benefit, along with TNE. Work on a range of projects to be delivered during this academic year include: 📍The development of UK TNE in Kazakhstan. 📍The recognition of UK TNE qualifications in Uzbekistan. 📍Recognition of non-standard degrees from UK providers in Qatar. 📍Recognition of international qualifications in Vietnam. 📍Recognition of transnational #distancelearning provision in India. 📍Recognition of #blendedlearning programmes in China. 📌 Read the full story on University World News: https://lnkd.in/d9hAriHc #highered #universities #export #accreditation #quality #studyabroad #intled #internationalisation #students #recognition #UKqualifications Department for Business and Trade Vicki Stott FRSA Eduardo Ramos Vangelis Tsiligkiris Janet B. More upside advantage... ******** Both countries also agreed to jointly set up institutes for advanced study, enhance interactions between think tanks and higher educational institutions, promote mutual visits between teachers and students and improve cultural exchanges and mutual learning. The joint statement for both countries emphasised the commitment to deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership, moving towards a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. ******** ....that's what it means when there's mutually beneficial future for each other, you invite each other over with open arms.

On a different scale of engagement with international education in the UK, today I’m attending the UKCISA symposium on e-visas—an important shift in the UK immigration system. Looking forward to gaining insights from colleagues on the latest updates and real-life scenarios. The move to e-visas, replacing physical BRPs with a fully digital status, is a major transition that also relates to international students experience in the UK. While it offers efficiency and security, it also raises important questions: How accessible is the system? What challenges are emerging in implementation? How are institutions adapting? looking forward to explore these discussions and hear different perspectives. #internationalstudents #uk #mobility #internationaleducation #ukvi
