My first association with the University of Bologna began with Prof. Canavari, who selected me during the interview process. This marked the beginning of my journey in International Horticultural Science at the University of Bologna. It is deeply saddening to know that Prof. Canavari is no longer with us. His profound knowledge of statistics, constant kindness, and remarkable personality made him a truly great person. His wisdom and warm smile will remain with me forever. Rest in peace, Professor.🙏

A great professional and a gentle professor who always supports the students in clearing academic doubts. I feel honoured to get to know him as my professor and fortunate to have him as one of the jury members during my thesis defense. It is deeply saddening that our dear professor prof. Canavari is no longer among us .May your soul rest in peace dear professor.

At least here, my farewell to Prof. Maurizio Canavari, with great affection. I hold him as a milestone, since January 2001, with the wonder he always inspired in me: unpredictable in his acute and motivated observations, stimulating and intellectually honest. Capable of changing his mind, even in the assertive clarity he held onto, sometimes for the sake of playfulness. An attentive and competent observer. Over the years, I found him again as a calm and wise counselor, ironic and affectionate in his composure, always attuned to his desires—both those he fulfilled and those set aside for different choices. I carry within me the memory of his hard-working attitude, intertwined with playfulness. And I leave this flower for him in the shape of written words.

Maurizio was an incredibly welcoming and warm person. His quintessential role in organizing the summer school for experimental economists around the world won't be forgotten anytime soon. Academia can use more people like Maurizio Canavari and it was an honor to be part of his circle.
