I am thankful that the VA provides top notch medical doctors, and hires staff that cares. My health is not great, but it is significantly better than it was. I have interacted with the fine doctors in pulmonology, rheumatology, kidney and pain management specialists. I am so much better off than I was, and still improving. I remember sitting next to another vet who was waiting to be called in to see his VA Doctor. He was cursing and talking smack about the VA, even as he walked over to receive care. I could hear him and thought he was over the top. If you are nice to those who care for you, and show a little appreciation for the “free” care you receive from the good doctors at the VA, they will spend time helping to get your issues properly cared for. If not, they will spend time trying to talk you down or get you out of their space. You served. That earns you respect. The only way you lose respect is by putting down those who are there to treat you.

If you truly believe that, I'm a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran who was refused medical care at the Minneapolis VA. I've spent the better part of 3 years submitting complaint after complaint and nobody from Patient Advocacy nor Internal Affairs and even the Whitehouse have done anything to hold anyone responsible for these actions. I've had to start publicly speaking on one of it not the most traumatic events in my life across all social platforms to hope and pray someone will finally stop reading my plight but HELP ME. I've been in this broken system for 33 years and been poked, prodded, lied to and abused. The VA itself has lost my records, have had them stolen, have delayed medical care for years, have refused paying for Service Connected medical bills of approved caregivers. The VA must answer me and my issues. I'm demanding Mediation and representation for the Civil and Criminal Abuses that have been perpetuated against my body, mental health and soul. I will no longer allow you all to call me Disabled and continue to treat all.of us as Crazy people raging from PTSD anger. WE ARE ONE. I served and died in service. I've given more of my life to this country than to self.
