Does this not make sense for Government targets of building fast? Just think of more factories for assembly purposes, actual assembly of house should be a good employment to teach apprenticeship plus manufacturing. U-M researchers studying Detroit’s recovery from bankruptcy sought to achieve inclusion by talking with humanists, architects, social scientists, urban designers and city planners. “People want the truth about the history of Detroit as a way toward reconciliation. MIT 11.439 Revitalizing Urban Main Streets: practicum final presentations This semester, graduate students from MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning partnered with Greater Ashmont Main Streets and Four Corners Main Streets in Dorchester, Boston. The two teams worked closely with their organizations to conduct research, develop analyses, and generate actionable recommendations for the district. The course focuses on the physical and economic renewal of urban neighborhood Main Street by combining classroom work with an applied class project. The new Rural Scholars Program is connecting IU students with high-priority projects throughout rural Indiana. This semester, students are recording oral histories for Indiana Landmarks' Black Heritage Preservation Program, creating placemaking designs for the communities of Washington and Ferdinand, working on archival projects for the Santa Claus Museum & Village, and advancing rural health initiatives.
