Matthew was homeless for 12 years before he found Nashville's Strobel Center. His birthday was coming up, but celebrating your birthday is not an amenity you can enjoy while figuring out where you're sleeping at night. Matthew said he would only be excited about his birthday if he received a cupcake. In response, the Center's residents & staff rallied together to throw Matthew a surprise birthday party with homemade Lucky Charms cupcakes. Matthew was full of smiles and his "second floor family" decided that, going forward, they would celebrate everyone's birthday. Having a home gives back birthdays.

“As Founder of Modern Widows Club, I engage with #widows of the COVID-19 pandemic on a weekly basis. When we established our nonprofit thirteen years ago, the idea of navigating through a pandemic and its lingering effects was unforeseen. While the pandemic may seem like a past event for some, for countless COVID-19 widows, it remains a harsh reality characterized by profound loss. These widows face a set of challenges unique to their situation, with stories that are deeply moving, marked by the abruptness and agony of their losses, the disconnection from being with their loved ones in their final moments, and the societal indifference towards their grief. Such experiences contribute to health crises that are not discussed nearly enough. Their narratives are ones of love and isolation, despair and resilience, confusion and pain, respect and hope. If you’re living this reality, please know that we truly see you, empathize with you, and care for you. Our organization is a sanctuary for those seeking compassion, empathy, and a listening ear, offering a space to share your grief and loss. It’s important to talk about the impact of these experiences on your life - an impact that lasts forever. Every program and direct service we have created is to uplift you every step of the way. And we know the pathway, is not short or a straight line”. -MWC Founder Carolyn Moor with Ana from North Carolina. Ana lost everything, moved to a new state, lived with crippling isolation and loneliness, is rebuilding her life and grateful she found such unconditional, helpful support from such kind others who understand her journey. Support our important programs so we can support wirthy widows. We're deeply moved by the heartfelt thanks from a family we served. Their words, 'You were there with us every step of the way,' remind us why we do what we do at Minnesota Hospice. It's not just care; it's about kindness, love, and being there when it matters most. #HospiceCare #HospiceLife #HospiceAwareness #HospiceSupport #MinnesotaHospice https://lnkd.in/g7GVcgfZ

Subject: Black Love Sista’s Tea: A Gathering for Wise Souls Dear Beautiful Souls, I’m Geraldine Churchwell, Founder & CEO of The Circle of Life Inc, and I’m thrilled to introduce a space where wisdom, warmth, and sisterhood converge—the Black Love Sista’s Tea. 🌟☕ Why Sista’s Tea? Because we deserve a seat at the table, too. And not just any table—a beautifully set one, with porcelain cups and stories steeped in resilience. This isn’t your average tea party. It’s a gathering for black female seniors, aged 50 and above, right here in Phila PA. What to Expect: Safe Space: No judgment, just love. Bring your vulnerability, your laughter, and your truth. Monthly Meetups: Let’s sip, share, and learn. In person. Face-to-face. Because our stories deserve eye contact. Bring Your Journal: Our cups will overflow with memories, reflections, and dreams. Topics on the Table: Relationships (the sweet, the spicy, and the seasoned) Mental Health (because our minds matter) Healthy Eating (nourishing our bodies, one bite at a time) Entrepreneurship (because age is just a number) Finances (let’s build wealth, not just wrinkles) Venue Vibes: We’re scouting venues—places that resonate with our spirit. And guess what? We’re all about supporting black-owned businesses. Drop your suggestions in the pot! Speakers Wanted: Know someone who can drop wisdom like honey? Nominate them! We’re looking for great speakers to stir our souls. Tickets, Please: All profits flow straight into The Circle of Life Inc Transitional Homeless Shelter. Your cup of tea will fund hope and healing. Advance Reservations: Secure your spot early. Ticket sales are our way of saying, “You’re invited, and your presence matters.” Join the Circle: Come, sip, and share. Leave a voicemail, send a text, or drop an email with your questions and enthusiasm. Thank You: Your support is the sugar in our tea, the warmth in our cups. Let’s brew something beautiful together. With love and anticipation, Geraldine Churchwell Founder & CEO, The Circle of Life Inc Transitional Homeless Shelter 215-954-3799 (CALL/TEXT) msgerry@thecircleoflifeinc.org www.thecircleoflifeinc.org
