➡️ PROPOSED RULE BY SBA – Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program Updates and Clarifications This proposed rule would make several changes to the Small Business Administration's (SBA or Agency) Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract (WOSB) Program regulations, including adding definitions that are not currently included in the regulations and conforming the regulations to current statutes that have not yet been integrated. The rule would also adopt similar language to that used in SBA's other government contracting program regulations regarding the length of time that a firm that has been declined three times must wait before reapplying to the WOSB Program, and limits on outside employment. Many veterans face challenges with raising capital to start small businesses—such as establishing credit and developing business relationships if they move to a new area after military service. The Small Business Administration must give special consideration to veterans for its lending programs. But the agency hasn't developed policies and procedures to do so. For example, SBA committed to processing applications for veteran-owned businesses promptly. However, it doesn't define what "promptly" means in this regard. GAO recommended that SBA establish specific procedures to ensure veterans are given special consideration. Exceptional piece, Admiral. Right on target, and relevantly framed. U.S. warships are tremendous testaments to American ingenuity, but living fulltime onboard floating machines in port probably wouldn’t make most folk’s recruiting and retention highlight reels. The sub force seems to have this figured out. The push to give shore infrastructure a little time in the sun is also important, as it should be easy for anyone in the rank structure to proudly showcase their daily work environment. Essential facets of military compensation should be an area in which our people rack up an easy W every single time they experience a career waypoint necessitating some form of pay/personnel transaction. Our Nation’s IT and banking institutions make paying our bills, signing leases, and even paying our taxes SUPER EASY, secure and readily intuitive, even for those of us that might not have grown up technology natives. Deliberate investment to pass proven industry partners the baton on this issue makes perfect sense. Awesome message that illustrates the degree to which leadership is tuned into the most pressing needs of our country’s young adults who voluntarily swear their lives in defense of our way of life. Women-owned businesses provide a vital boost to the U.S. economy. In fact, there are over 12 million women-owned businesses in the U.S., including 1.1 million women-owned employer businesses that employ over 10 million workers and generate trillions of dollars in revenue. To help them steer their businesses in the right direction, they can utilize diverse resources from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). These resources are used by established women entrepreneurs who want to grow their business and women entrepreneurs who might be starting their first business. It's vital for small business owners to have a wide network of local resources and support, which SBA provides. Over the past 12 years, during the Obama, Trump and Biden Presidencies the US Army & the United States Department of Defense has forced soldiers to separated early due to the downsizing of the Armed Forces, to return separation bonus money, 10s of 1000s. This is wrong. Long before student loans were forgiven, bonus separation pay should have been forgiven. These people risked their lives for our freedom & the freedom for democracy around the world.
